🌐 Network for L2 Listening Research and Education (NeL2L-Ed)

We bridge the gap between theory and practice to enhance second language listening comprehension. Our mission is to collaborate with researchers, schools, teachers, and students to improve learning through effective strategies, materials, and tasks tailored to diverse contexts.

Our ongoing teaching and research work focuses on computer-based L2 listening environments—exploring how digital applications can enrich language learning through exposure and interaction with authentic listening materials.

🏛️ Based in Chile at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Instituto de Literatura y Ciencias del Lenguaje, our projects have been proudly funded by ANID (Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo).

👩‍🔬 Led by Dr. Mónica S. Cárdenas-Claros, our network unites pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, schools, universities, researchers, and scholars worldwide. We move within the field of SLA, organizing conferences, workshops, school-based research, and English training programs.

Together, we strive to advance listening education and research for the benefit of students everywhere.

📣 We are pleased to announce that the organizing committee of the Third International Conference on L2 Listening will now accept research proposals for the Research & Development sessions as pre-recorded presentations.

We’ve received many inquiries from colleagues and listening scholars in countries that require a visa to enter Chile. ☑️Check the list herehttps://www.consulado.gob.cl/consulados/site/docs/20190220/20190220161313/cuadro_de_visas_corregido060126_2.pdf

Authors interested in sending a proposal should let us know of their intention of participation as soon as possible. ([email protected])

Also, given this decision, we will extend the Call for Proposals until March 2nd, 2026.

Please note that submitted abstracts in this new category will also undergo a peer review process by two members of the scientific committee. Upon acceptance, we will send the presenters the technical specifications of the video and guidelines for the expected synchronous participation on the days of the conference.

🌏 We hope this makes the process more accessible and inclusive to everyone.
