📍 The letter 'w' is often silent when it appears before 'r' at the beginning of a word, as in "wrong" and "write". It is also silent after 's' in some words, such as sword and answer. In these cases, the 'w' is not pronounced, and the word is spoken by starting directly with the 'r' sound.
