Our team was fouded by the end of 2013 by a group of High School students from Liceo Valentín Letelier High School (Recoleta, Chile), who wanted to learn Science and Technology through Robotics. In 2014, after an administration change and by getting the sponsorship of the City of Recoleta the team decided to jump into a BIG challenge: become a FIRST Robotics Competition Team (The 4th founded in Ch
ile and one of the only two that still exist). The challenge was bigger than the expected as we are based in a Public School but, after a lot of hard work and a the loyal support of our City Hall, we made it. In 2015 we had our first FRC Competition in the Los Angeles Regional in California, and since then we've been competing in the U.S. We also participate in the VEX Robotics leagues in Chile, and we mentor several FLL local teams too. Another FRC season is approaching and we are ready to rock it! Why that name? BECAUSE WE LOVE ROBOTS JUST AS WE LOVE PIZZAS, GO FRC TEAM 5512, PIZZA MECÁNICA!
