In Loving Memory of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo)

As we gather for the third-day prayer (Fidau) in honor of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, affectionately known as Ogogo, we take a moment to reflect on his extraordinary life, marked by his boundless generosity and compassion.

Even during his own struggle with the illness that ultimately took him from us, Ogogo selflessly contributed millions of naira to support the construction of a mosque. His legacy of kindness and selflessness is something we will always cherish.

May Allah accept his good deeds, forgive any shortcomings, and bless his resting place with light and peace. We also pray that Allah grants his family, friends, colleagues, and all who loved him the strength to cope with this profound loss.

Let us honor his memory by continuing his legacy of generosity. Ameen.

Breaking news about Tani Olohun (Adegbola Abdulazeez) today, August 25, 2026.

Reports indicate that the police tried to arrest Tani Olohun at his home in Ibadan, Oyo State. Videos making the rounds online captured a tense standoff between the police, local residents, and Tani Olohun himself. Notably, Oloye Sunday Igboho stepped in to help, along with other community members, which ultimately prevented the arrest from happening.

The Oyo State Police Command later clarified that officers had come from Kwara State to carry out an arrest warrant issued by the Upper Ilorin Magistrates’ Court. This warrant was linked to allegations that Tani Olohun had engaged in conduct likely to disturb public peace and that he had not adhered to the conditions of a previous bail.

In light of the confrontation, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police reportedly instructed the officers to head back to Kwara and advised the complainant to take the matter to the appropriate court in Ibadan, where the alleged offense took place.

As it stands, Tani Olohun was not taken into custody during the attempted arrest. This incident has drawn significant attention, especially due to Oloye Sunday Igboho's involvement and the jurisdictional concerns raised by the Oyo State Police.

Looking beyond this immediate situation, the developments could have broader implications. Any actions seen as undermining the rule of law or the judicial process might attract government scrutiny and could potentially impact Oloye Sunday Igboho's standing within the Iru Ekun group. However, this is still speculative at this point.

That said, it’s important to consider the location of the alleged offense when taking action. If Tani Olohun is indeed tried in Ibadan, it would likely make the situation more acceptable.

Absolutely! While we can't completely eliminate the risk of cancer, there are definitely steps we can take to prevent many types or at least lower our chances significantly. Here’s what the research really backs up:
- Steer clear of smoking and to***co use—this is one of the most significant risks you can avoid. And don’t forget about secondhand smoke; it’s best to avoid that too.
- Keep your alcohol consumption in check—the less you drink, the lower your risk for various cancers.

- Aim to maintain a healthy weight—carrying extra body fat is linked to several types of cancer.

- Get moving! Try to fit in about 150 to 300 minutes of moderate exercise each week, or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous activity.

- Focus on a plant-based diet—load up on veggies, fruits, beans, whole grains, and nuts. It’s wise to limit processed meats and cut back on red meat.

- Protect yourself from too much sun—seek shade, wear protective clothing, and use sunscreen. And definitely skip the tanning beds.

- Stay up to date with your vaccinations—especially the HPV and hepatitis B vaccines, which can help prevent infections that lead to certain cancers.

- Minimize your exposure to known carcinogens—think asbestos, certain industrial chemicals, radon, and unnecessary radiation.

- Don’t skip out on cancer screenings—these can help catch some cancers early or spot precancerous changes. What you need will depend on your age, s*x, family history, and other risk factors.

- Be aware of your family history—some inherited mutations can significantly raise your cancer risk, so if you have a strong family history, you might need to start screening earlier or get additional tests.
And just a quick note: supplements, herbal remedies, detoxes, and special diets haven’t been proven to prevent cancer. Sticking to a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle is where the real evidence lies. Alfa Hujja
