FAMILY RELEASES APPRECIATION MESSAGE & REMAINING BURIAL PROGRAMMES FOR LATE OGOGO 🕊️💔

The family of late veteran actor, Alhaji Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who came out in large numbers to honour him during his burial on Monday, 24th August 2026.

The family thanked Ogogo’s fans, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers for their immense love, support and presence during this difficult period. They prayed that Almighty Allah would reward everyone abundantly, bless their families and protect them from calamity. 🤲

The family also announced the remaining programmes for the completion of his burial rites:

📌 8TH-DAY FIDAU PRAYER
The 8th-day Fidau prayer will hold on Monday, 31st August 2026, in Ilaro. Fans, friends, colleagues and well-wishers are encouraged to come out in large numbers to join the family in praying for the peaceful repose of Ogogo’s soul and for Almighty Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. 🕌🤲

📌 40-DAY ARTISTS’ DAY
An Artists’ Day will also be held 40 days after his burial at the Pavilion Hall, Ilaro, in honour of the late icon.

The event will bring together actors, musicians, comedians, singers and other entertainers to celebrate Ogogo’s remarkable life, legacy and contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry. 🎭❤️

The programme will be coordinated by TAMPAN — Theatre and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria.

Following the passing of Ogogo, TAMPAN Global President, Mr Latin has directed all state chapters to include a special prayer session in their next State Meeting

The prayer should focus on seeking God’s face, forgiveness of sins, His protection over the living and preservation of members from de@th, sickness and destruction. A prayer should also be made for the forgiveness and peaceful repose of the departed colleagues

Breaking News: The Oyo State Commissioner of Police has informed the complainants in Ilorin that any case they wish to file against Tani Olohun must be filed in Ibadan, as that is where the alleged offence took place.

The Commissioner emphasized that the rule of law and the proper jurisdiction of the alleged offence must be respected. He advised any complainants in Ilorin to file their cases against Tani Olohun in Ibadan court.

Nojoke Taiwo popularly called "lya Jesu" is the first wife of the Late Nollywood Veteran Actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan Ogogo.

Ogogo died yesterday August 23, 2026, after a battle with stage-4 cancer,

Ogogo being a devout Muslim was also married to a devout Christian. Affectionately known within her community as ,"Iya Jesu" a nickname reflecting her devout Christian faith.

Madam! Ajoke's marriage to Ogogo crossed a religious-line that many Nigerian couples navigate with quiet care.

While Ogogo remained a devout Muslim throughout his life and career, Ajoke practiced Christianity, with the couple maintaining their individual faiths within their household rather than either partner converting to match the other - a domestic arrangement that speaks to a broader, often unremarked-upon reality of interfaith family life across Yorubaland.

Together, Ajoke and Ogogo raised two daughters, Halima Taiwo (Lima) and Shakira Taiwo (Kira), whose names themselves carry the blended religious and cultural identity of their upbringing.

Ogogo later married a second wife .

Beyond that, Madam Ajoke Taiwo has largely remained outside the public eye, in contrast to her husband, who spent like four decades as one of the most visible faces of Yoruba-language Nollywood, appearing in landmark films from "Owo Blow" in the 1990s through to "7 Doors" in more recent years.
