West African Virus Epidemiology - WAVE

We are a college of researchers from west and central Africa working in the same program to reduce the impact of viral diseases on roots and tuber crops by harmonizing methods and means of struggle for food security. We establish a bridge between various stakeholders to increase the demand and the availability of clean planting materials as a component of an integrated management of root crop. We also equip West and Central African breeders with accurate information for identification and deployment of resistant/tolerant root and tuber crops. Our mission is to contribute to food security in Africa through the empowerment of small farmers and stakeholders through better management of viral diseases of roots and tubers, especially cassava.
