El Contexto is a network of social scientists who want to demonstrate to the public the possibility, excitement and method of fact-oriented critical enquiry into social issues by showcasing how to analyse why news happens. We do this because we believe fact-oriented critical enquiry is inherently more interesting and rewarding than the trading of often uninformed ideological assertions that public debate tends to degenerate into. That’s why we openly invite you to civil disagreement and send us your dissenting opinion if you believe we analysed something wrong.
