How is a fashion collection created?!

At the Swiss Fashion Academy, students experience the entire creative journey from the first spark of inspiration to the final realization of their designs. From research and concept development to moodboards, fashion illustrations, pattern making and garment construction, every step is part of the process.

The Fashion Design course lasts 12 months and is divided into three modules: Conception, Realisation and Presentation. Students learn not only how to design a collection, but also how to bring it to life and present it professionally.

The course is taught in both German and English, combining creativity, technical skills and industry focused knowledge.

The graduation fashion show at the Swiss Fashion Academy is the highlight of the entire journey.

Each student has the opportunity to present their own collection in front of around 200 guests, bringing months of creativity, development and hard work to the runway. From the first concept to the final garment, every piece tells a unique story.

It is more than a fashion show. It is a moment of pride, achievement and the opportunity to share your vision with a live audience.

The final exam at the Swiss Fashion Academy is the moment where the entire creative process comes together.

Students present their moodboards, concept boards, fashion illustrations and final sewn garments, showcasing the journey from initial inspiration to finished designs. This year, the creative theme focuses on upcycling, challenging students to transform existing materials into innovative fashion concepts.

Each presentation reflects research, creativity, technical skills and a unique design vision.

A final showcase where ideas, craftsmanship and sustainability meet.
