1st March marked an incredible milestone for us: an entire decade of Yamaha Music School 🎉

Founded by the fantastic Yasuko Hamabe, we look back with endless appreciation at just how the school has grown, and the community of teachers, parents and students that makes it so special.

This week, we enjoyed the occasion with a tombola, featuring 10 awesome prizes and other exciting moments.

And now, we look ahead with excitement. To anticipate another decade of music, growth, and a network that continues to thrive.

As this week we celebrate a decade of Yamaha, the next sees another milestone. Our students will take their very first Grade Examinations with us. While a big step, it’s completely normal to feel nervous and we are already incredibly proud of how hard you’ve all worked.

Exciting news: New Ukulele & Singing classes begin this spring! 🌼

Children will learn simple ukulele chords, sing together, and build confidence week by week. With the guidance and support of our lovely teacher Roina, it’s all about enjoying music and discovering what they can do.
We can’t wait to welcome new young musicians at Yamaha Music School Zurich.

🇩🇪 Spannende Neuigkeiten: Neue Ukulele & Singing Kurse starten diesen Frühling!

Kinder lernen einfache Ukulele-Akkorde, singen gemeinsam und stärken Woche für Woche ihr Selbstvertrauen. Mit der liebevollen Begleitung unserer Lehrerin Roina steht vor allem die Freude an der Musik im Mittelpunkt.

Wir freuen uns darauf, neue junge Musiker:innen bei uns begrüssen zu dürfen. 🎶

An art that builds confidence, creativity, discipline, and joy. In every lesson, every practice, every performance, our students grow as both musicians and people.

Now, for almost 10 years, we have been proud to share this musical journey with our community. The 1st of March marks an entire decade of Yamaha Music School Zurich and we are super excited to celebrate with you 🎉

🎶 Winter Concert Highlights

What a beautiful and successful concert day we had on Sunday. Our students, across every session, performed with incredible pride, not only in their music, but even in how they presented themselves. We were honored to welcome family and friends to support and cheer on their performances.

Notably also, this dedication from our students are a testament to our teachers at Yamaha, who pass their passion on. And in turn, seeing that passion returned on stage makes work like this, so rewarding.

And as always, we enjoyed a variety of instruments: Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Violin, Cello, and group performances. With a full and happy audience, the atmosphere was warm, proud and celebratory.

All in all, a truly memorable winter concert!

Did anything stand out for you over the day?

🎶 Progress in music isn’t always something you can measure.

What you can see is the effort: regular lessons, steady practice, and teachers who take the time to support each student. That’s where confidence grows, and where creativity slowly finds its place.

With our 19 teachers, 20+ different instruments, and students of all ages walking into our classrooms every week, we see great progress when people feel supported.

One of our favourite days of the year: our school concerts! 🎶

Starting at 9am until 5:30pm on February 1st, we will welcome to the stage our exceptional students of all ages and talents. To proud friends, family and teachers, they’ll showcase what they’ve been working hard on.

We are beyond excited and hope you will join us there!
