Im Laufe der Zeit entstehen neue Zivilisationen: Sie gedeihen, verfallen und verschwinden. Sowie der ewige Rhythmus von Geburt und Tod sind auch wir – als Teil der Natur – von diesem ständigen Fluss von Erneuerungen, der gezwungenermassen Vergänglichkeit erfordert, nicht ausgenommen.

Die Collagen-Serie von Anne Brand Galvez beschäftigt sich anhand eines humoristischen Ansatzes, einer fiktiven Erzählform mit der Vergangenheit einer potentiellen Zukunft, die in einer postapokalyptischen «neuen Zivilisation» angesiedelt ist. Damit sind ihre Collagen die archäologischen Funde der von ihr gezeichneten Zukunft — Archäologie der Zukunft.

Bei der Arbeit von Anne Brand Galvez geht es um das Verständnis von Mythos und Symbolik, die Bedeutung von Objekten und die darüber entstandenen Hypothesen über deren Aussterben. Ihre Werke veranschaulichen damit, wie die fiktive, zerfallenen Zivilisation von dem Kult von Objekten geprägt gewesen ist und wie diese Zeit dem Glaubenssystem «Konsumismus» unterlegen hat.
