A huge thank you to my amazing friend who started with me as a student a year ago and became my teaching assistant 6 months later.
I'm so sad that she has to leave me, having been offered something bigger and better (I don't blame her) and I wish you all the luck with your new exciting project.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Teşekkürler a million my dear friend.

Very much looking forward to speaking at this at 11am GMT today with the wonderful Marwa Nawawy from Cairo.
Feel free to pop in :)
What is holding you back from expressing yourself 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚??
Is it the fear of being judged? Is it because you don't sound "𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑽𝑬" enough??
How do you usually perceive messages like "𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔" or "𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕"? Does it make you feel that your English is not 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉??
On this Saturday's live, we'll be discussing this topic with 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 (Clare Solo-Teacher) She is an International Language Coach with a wide experience in teaching English as a lingua franca.
Get ready with your questions, tag your friends, and mark this event on your calendar.

Following on from my previous video, why not join us tomorrow for a group session on how you can identify your challenges and what you can do to fix them.
It’ll be a lovely, supportive group of like-minded people to discuss and plan together.
👆🔗👆 There’s a link above in my bio where you can book your space 🔗👆🔗
You will need a computer for best interaction in the groups, but a tablet or phone will be ok if it’s really a problem to get a computer.
DM me if you have any questions.
See you tomorrow!

Do you ever worry about whether you're doing the right thing to improve your ? Read/scroll to the end of this post for my tips on how to start doing this... 📚
Perhaps you start planning your studies but then get distracted by a new shiny thing or something on Youtube or an email which obviously *needs* (ie it doesn't) immediate attention?!!
And even when you do plan something you don't always stick to it...
My first piece of advice is: don't worry about it!
I was planning to do an Instagram reel on Monday (with my 1st 'pledge' of the year) but life happened and I didn't get round to it (I'll do it today, I promise!)
But guess what, the sky didn't fall down and I'm still here, so I shouldn't worry about not sticking to plan.
The main thing is to actually do a plan. Even if you don't stick to it.
Can you see that piece of paper on my desk with lots of colours? That's my plan.
One day in the next few weeks I'm going to show you how to do one for yourself.
But in the meantime, why not come to our group session on Saturday where we will discuss what we can do BEFORE we make a plan.
🔗 👆 Heres a link to register. It's FREE and we would love to meet you (and we are all super friendly, mostly women) : https://englishwithclare.newzenler.com/live-webinar/how-to-speak-english-more-quickly/register
Ps. This is me planning my plan!!

🔔’All dressed up and nowhere to go’ is an expression that couldn’t be any truer this year.
Is it the same for you?
With London on tier 4 lockdown and me and my partner self-isolating due to the government alert system, we are unable to leave the house.
Thank goodness for Zoom!
And thank goodness for the amazing teacher community that I am part of, I was able to get dressed up and have a glass of Prosecco with some of my nearest and dearest friends to sing out the old and ring in the new.
And a lovely time was had by all at my student party too. Congratulations to the competition winners!
I don’t always have time to get dressed up, even when I want to. But this week I’ve made sure to find some time to relax and also to do my hair a bit!
I’ll be ringing out the old again tonight on Zoom.
And soon I will be ringing in the new with my fab goal setting workshop ‘How to get what you need speaking English’ next Saturday.
In the meantime, today is the last day for the 10% early bird discount for my all my courses including my 10-week Liberating Fluency live course.
What better way to ring out the old than by joining a group of likeminded people to set goals and work together to achieve those.
🔗👆 The link will be in my bio above til I get up in the morning (about 24 hours from now, depending on the hangover!)
I wish you and all your friends and family a safe and happy nee year. Let’s ring it out together. 🔔 🛎 🔔
Don’t forget to tell me about your plans below or you can even DM me 😍
Ps. Don’t forget I will also be starting the new year with weekly pledges on a Monday morning. See you on Monday.

🎄☃️🎁🥂Even though I’m not a Christian I do love all the traditional trimmings that come with this time of year. A real tree, satsumas, Ferrero Rocher, beautiful Christmas songs and a big roast dinner. And despite not being able to be with our granddaughter for the first Christmas, we watched her rip open her presents on Zoom!
Wherever you are, whatever you believe in (or not) I wish you a joyous time with your friends and family, and hope next year is even a tiny bit better than this one.
See you back here on 4th January.
Lots of seasonal love from London.

What do you dream of being able to do next year? Do you want to kick 2020 in the pants and start the new year with a brand new set of skills to help you achieve your dreams of speaking English better?
Perhaps you want people to respect you more when you speak?
Perhaps you want to speak with more authority? With more confidence?
I have been in many situations when I didn't feel like I knew what I was talking about!
Times when I just couldn't express myself using words that sounded suitable, when I said the wrong thing and I just wish the ground would open up and swallow me.
But through all my tricky situations I have learned many techniques that have helped me speak more clearly, with more authority and more confidence.
In the new year I'm going to share all these techniques with you and if you'd like to join me and my amazing students in our next Big Course: Liberating Fluency 2021 I have quietly opened the doors with an early bird discount of 10%. Shhh, don't tell everyone!
Just go to the link in my bio above and sign up before the end of December 2020.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a direct message.
Take care now,
Clare

🎉🧘 I mean it!!
In our last Liberating Fluency class of the whole course we talked about what we're doing over the next few weeks.
One person said they're going to make the most of their time off work and do lots of studying.
🧘 Do you know what I'm going to do over the Christmas holiday?
NOTHING! And I mean it!
🎉 We are closing for (most) business from Wednesday 23rd December-Monday 4th January 2021. No emails, no lesson-planning, no Instagram, and so on... Woohoo!
🧠 And I advise you to do the same. Try not to study, give your brain some time off...Your brain muscle, just like your other muscles, needs a break too.
You know what it'll be like...If you're anything like me, you'll spend the whole time saying to yourself 'I must do some study, I must do some study' but in reality, what will happen is you won't do any study until the very last day, but you’ll be stressed about it the whole holiday and won’t relax properly.
👉 So my advice is to actually give yourself permission to not study, even if it’s only 5 days or so.
Believe me, your brain will thank me 😝
And if you really insist on keeping your ear tuned, at the most, do something easy - listen to Christmas songs on the radio, read or listen to audio books and so on
🧘🧘🧘 Happy relaxing! 🎉🎉🎉
Ps. my Liberating Fluency course starts again in January. Plus a few other speaking & surprises. If you’re thinking of attending, please go to my website ‘English With Clare’ and sign up for the waiting list or newsletter or even the pronunciation files.
Take care now, have a lovely weekend. C
