Sepios
Sepios is a student project at ETH Zürich, aiming to design a nautical robot with sepia inspired fins. We are a student robotics project at ETH Zürich.
We are aiming to design an efficient and environment friendly alternative to propellers for underwater locomotion. The use of undulating fins inspired by cuttlefish for thrust generation enables our robot to move omnidirectionally. High manoeuvrability and low disturbance allow for new applications in research, marine life filming, offshore engineering and many more. Our team is looking to set a new trend for underwater vehicles and inspire future students to embrace engineering.
