SYNT - Swiss Young Naturalists' Tournament

We're delighted to be hosting the Swiss Young Naturalists' Tournament (SYNT) in April.

This builds on the success of many ZIS students who’ve not only excelled in SYNT but gone on to represent Switzerland at international level.

SYNT - Swiss Young Naturalists' Tournament is open to science enthusiasts aged 12 to 16 from anywhere in Switzerland. Participants will carry out a small research project in advance and showcase their findings by presenting and defending them at the tournament.

We're already assembling the ZIS team and now calling on passionate young minds from other schools to take part.

We are excited to announce that the SYNT 2022 will take place on the 12th of March. More details will follow shortly.

The SYNT 2021 was the first virtual SYNT. The results are now posted on our webpage (www.synt.ch). We thank everyone for their participation and hope to see you all again next year!

Our jury is ready for the first virtual SYNT!!

Auf Grund der Unsicherheit rund um COVID-19 und den Auswirkungen auf die Vorbereitung an den Schulen haben wir entschieden, das SYNT 2021 auf den 29. Mai zu verschieben. Aus denselben Gründen ist es uns leider nicht möglich, die Science Workshop im Februar durchzuführen. Wir werden stattdessen individuelle online Coachingsessions für interessierte SchülerInnen anbieten.
Anmeldeschluss ist neu der 31. März.
Wir hoffen, ein physisches Turnier im Mai durchführen zu können. Sollte dies nicht möglich sein, werden wir einen interaktiven virtuellen Anlass organisieren, so dass die SchülerInnen Ihre Arbeit vorstellen können.

The current COVID-19 situation causes a lot of uncertainty and impacts the preparation of our participants. We have therefore decided to postpone the SYNT 2021 to the 29th of Mai. For the same reasons we are also not able host the SYNT Workshop in February. As an alternative we will offer individual remote coaching sessions for all interested students.
The new registration deadline is March 31st.
We hope to organize an in-person tournament in Mai. Should this not be possible we will host an interactive virtual tournament to ensure that the students can present their work.
