- Leonie Hürlimann - Head of Change Management, Zurich Insurance Company Ltd.
- Melanie Pfändler - Auslandredaktorin, Radio SRF
- Roger Gfrörer - Leiter Career Services, UZH

Digital Democracy Workshop
November 6, 2020
Digital Society Initiative, University of Zurich

We invite paper submissions on the political implications of digital technology, broadly defined. We are particularly interested in topics such as political communication and public opinion, e-government and public administration, AI and governance, civic tech and political participation, the regulation of tech platforms, and state repression and surveillance, among others.

This workshop is part of the Digital Society Initiative at the University of Zurich and aims to bring together and facilitate exchange among scholars from different substantive fields working on these topics. We particularly encourage researchers based in or near Zurich to apply, as well as early-career researchers and those belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in the field.

Workshop attendance is free and is open to both paper presenters and non-presenters, but registration is required and subject to seat availability.

The deadline to submit paper abstracts for the workshop is June 15, 2020. Acceptance notifications will be sent by the beginning of July. Apply here: https://digdemlab.io/forms/workshop.php

The workshop will take place in-person if the COVID-19 situation permits it. If the situation does not allow for in-person meetings, the workshop will take place online.

Workshop organizers:

• Elliot Ash (ETH Zurich)
• Karsten Donnay (University of Zurich)
• Fabrizio Gilardi (University of Zurich)
• Anita Gohdes (Hertie School Berlin)
• Lucas Leemann (University of Zurich)
