The final chapter of the Beasties trilogy explores observation, interpretation and advanced sculptural decision-making.
Zurich Glass School is an ideal School of Art for creatives to build a solid foundation in skills wit The school isn't only working on flameworking skills.
Our school is working mainly but not exclusively working in off-mandrel sculptural work in both soft and hard glass. Our programmes are very much focused on hand-skill improvement as opposed to use of colour. We are also offering workshops in marketing, photography of glass and in September we have a festival of talks called 'Contemporary Contexts'. This festival is for people who have come to gla

Where do creative ideas come from?
When artists look at nature, they aren't simply trying to copy what they see. They are observing, selecting and interpreting.
In this short film, I explore how observations of beetles can become the starting point for original glass objects, using one of Serbay Doru's murrine beetles as an example.
The goal is not simply to recreate nature.
The goal is to understand it, respond to it, and transform it into something new.
I'd love to know what inspires your own creative ideas.

Calling all under 35 year old glass artists!

Are you or do you know a young glass artist under the age of 35 and do you dream of exhibiting at the world’s first museum dedicated to glass art from the 1980s and onwards? Then now is the chance.
YOUNG GLASS 27 is the fifth edition of an international, juried competition for artists under the age of 35, organized by Glas–Museum of Glass Art in Ebeltoft, Denmark.
Held every 10 years, YOUNG GLASS was launched in 1987 to reward and promote innovation and emerging talent in contemporary glass.
Works for the exhibition will be selected by a high profile, international jury, and cash prizes and artist residencies will be awarded to the winners.
In 2027, the competition will have special focus on artistic explorations of sustainability and craftmanship.

Why pendant loops matter!
"A clean pendant loop seems like a small detail.
But it’s often one of the first things that makes a piece feel finished, wearable and professional.
This short E-demo focuses entirely on control, consistency and clean finishing in soft glass."
