✨ A Musical Weekend at Musica Viva ✨
What a wonderful weekend behind us: truly intense and full of music: On Saturday, our students had the unique opportunity to rehearse their piano and violin concertos with a chamber ensemble — an amazing experience and an important step as we prepare for our Gala Anniversary Concert on 1 February in the beautiful Klus Park Kapelle.
On Sunday, we continued our tradition of taking part in the charity concert of the Weisse Nächte choir in the majestic Predigerkirche — for some of our youngest students, it was their very first time performing on such a stage. A special joy brought our little vocal ensemble with their wonderful teacher Ljupka Rac. And though it’s just the beginning, what a success it was!
Bravo! 👏
Looking forward to future performances, a warm thank you to all students, teachers, families, and partners who make these moments possible.

🎶✨ Was für ein Semester! ✨🎶
🎉 Unser grosses Sommerkonzert
🗓 Diesen Sonntag, 6. Juli, 17 Uhr

Kommt vorbei – wir feiern die Musik!

🎶✨ What a Semester! ✨🎶
We’ve been so immersed in real life — creating, listening, learning, and making music together — that we almost forgot to share it all online! But now it’s time to catch up and look back on an incredibly rich few months at Musica Viva.
🌟 We had two vibrant In-House Salons — our beloved jam sessions where we not only learn to perform, but also to listen, respond, and grow as musicians together.
🎼 Our Speak Music theory classes took us deep into the worlds of Mozart and Beethoven — and in the final session, every student became a composer for a day!
🎶 We launched a new 8-week Vocal Ensemble – a joyful journey for children aged 5 to 7, exploring classical music and oneself through singing, movement, and expression in the enchanting Bonsai Garden near Museum Rietberg.
🎵 As part of our “Visit a Concert with Natasha” project, we also returned to the Tonhalle Zürich — this time for a moving evening of baroque music with the wonderful Yulia Lezhneva. A truly special experience for both young and grown-up ears!
🌿 And of course, there was our unforgettable Music & Nature Camp in the magical Seleger Moor Park — four intense, joyful, and creative days, full of music, discovery, and nature.
All of this leads us to the highlight of the semester:
🎉 Our Final Summer Concert

SPEAK MUSIC – Another great session of our all-in-one special theory course, Speak Music, took place last Saturday!
This semester is dedicated to Mozart and Beethoven, where our students are learning how to distinguish between these two musical giants. We began by listening to the overtures “Egmont” and “The Magic Flute.” While listening, the students followed along by reading the complete orchestral scores—a challenging but at the same time fantastic way to dive into the details of the music!
Next, we discussed and then watched Act 1 of The Marriage of Figaro, which brought plenty of fun and excitement. What a great feeling, when after two hours of listening, discussing operas, orchestras, and instruments, a 15-year-old student leaves the class saying, “Wow, thank you! That was so interesting!”. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. 😇
We’re looking forward to the next class in April!

While our young music enthusiasts, along with their families enjoy their well-deserved winter holidays, here‘s some impressions to share about the autumn semester‘s highlight and grand finale - our school's Winter Concert, held in the elegant Löwen-Saal in Hausen am Albis.
The festive atmosphere of this beautiful venue was enriched by the soft glow of candlelight, bringing musicians and listeners closer to the world of 300 years ago, when most of the evening’s music was created.
This concert was a true Hommage à J.S. Bach, and we believe it was a wonderful experience to live through what he valued the most—music.
A heartfelt thank you to our young musicians, our wonderful audience, and the dedicated organizers who made this Winter Concert so inspiring!
