Working while raising young kids is a beautiful challenge — but one that absolutely requires strong boundaries. Over the years, I’ve learned that protecting my time isn’t just about being more productive — it’s about being more present, too.
Here are a few things that work for me:
✔️ I block my calendar around my children’s most important moments — breakfast, pickup, storytime. These are non-negotiables.
✔️ I set clear work hours and communicate them with my team.
✔️ I carve out "quiet time" for deep work while my kids nap or engage in independent play.
✔️ I remind myself that saying “no” is actually saying “yes” to what matters most.
✔️ And most importantly, I give myself grace — it’s never going to be perfect, but it can still be deeply fulfilling.

Sibling relationships can be both beautiful and challenging — one moment they’re laughing, the next they’re arguing over a toy. I’ve learned that encouraging positive sibling bonds starts with creating an environment where each child feels seen, heard, and valued.
Here’s what’s helped us:
I avoid comparing them — each child is unique and deserves to be celebrated for who they are. I also carve out one-on-one time with each of them, which helps prevent competition for attention. And when disagreements come up (because they always do!), I guide them through respectful conflict resolution, showing them how to express their feelings and listen to each other.
Simple shared routines like storytime, joint play, or helping each other with small tasks also strengthen their connection. The goal isn’t to eliminate conflict — it’s to give them the tools to grow through it, together.
