You get a call from a family member. They sound worried and say something went wrong while traveling. They need money right now. You hesitate, but the voice sounds exactly like theirs.

𝗔𝗜 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. Scammers use urgency to make people act before they stop to check.

Every October, organizations around the world encourage people to take a closer look at the everyday habits that help keep us safer online. And once again, we at the 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 are joining the effort.

The campaign began in the US in 2004, where the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 and 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 lead it today. Europe marks 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, supported by the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗔) and the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The shared message: 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀. ✋

That starts with everyday habits: using strong passwords, keeping devices updated, and thinking twice before clicking a suspicious message.

And cybersecurity awareness matters at home too. 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. AI is also making some scams more convincing, including attempts to clone voices and impersonate family members during fake emergencies.

𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗬𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 │ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?

Four weeks ago, 300+ professionals from 22 countries joined us in Zurich for the fifth edition of the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Over two days, CISOs, regulators, researchers, and industry leaders connected during breakfasts, lunches, and aperitifs, meeting people they might not otherwise have had the chance to meet.

And the conversations did not stop there. The 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗜𝗦𝗢 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 and 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 brought everyone together again in a more festive and exclusive setting, with more time for informal conversations at the end of the first day.

Today, we welcomed a TV crew to our Zurich office. 🎥

The 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝘀 team interviewed our Founder and CEO, 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘆𝗲𝘃, about why upskilling and reskilling in cybersecurity and AI is so important today, and how AI is affecting job security and junior talent.

He also spoke about the role of the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in the cybersecurity community and society.

Sometimes you look at a process at work and think: 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Then the harder questions start. Is it worth it? Do we have the right data and know the risks? How do we make it work?

Claudia Scordamaglia joined our 𝗔𝗜 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 program with very similar questions. She wanted to understand how to use AI in her work, which opportunities made sense to pursue, and how to bring them to life.

Here is how her approach changed:
