Much of my teaching philosophy centers around Howard Garner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences. We all learn in different ways and my role as a teacher is to help each individual student find his or her best path and learning style.

Let your music practice bring joy everyday, at any level, anywhere, everywhere. No matter what difficulties life brings upon you, there's always a light somewhere.

Award-winning flutist Heather Holden enjoys a long-standing career as a flute teacher and music educator for beginners through professional levels. She was an artist in residence and flute faculty at the esteemed Diller-Quaile School of Music in New York City for eight years before relocating to Zürich, Switzerland in 2007. During her time in NY, she also taught at Manhattan School of Music as well as gave master classes at several major universities and music conservatories throughout North America. She was a recipient of the Chamber Music America Residency Partnership Grant, designing and teaching a year-long Inter-generational Outreach Music Course. Heather taught flute at the Zürich International School from 2008 to 2017 and currently maintains a thriving private studio. Also an enthusiastic supporter of early childhood music education, Heather has been the assistant director and head teacher at Music Together Zürich since 2015. In addition to teaching, Heather is a regular substitute with Opernhaus Zürich and performs as a free-lance flutist.
