The British School Bern The British School of Bern is an English-speaking International day school, located in Ruefenacht, Bern, Switzerland. Est. in 1987 for ages 2.5 to 18.

We offer a challenging curriculum meeting the demands of individual students. The British School of Bern is an English-speaking, International day school dedicated to educate the mind, body and social well being of each child with special emphasis on self worth and respect shown for life. In addition to reading, personal spoken and written expression and development of computational problem solving skills, we encourage scientific discovery, artistic creativity and physical fitness. In every area, pupils are helped to cultivate independent thinking and judgments balanced by receptivity to the ideas of others. idyllically set overlooking the Swiss Alps in a secure and peaceful environment, the British School Bern offers children and parents a unique academic and social opportunity to join a creative, diverse and caring community with ties that span the globe- and a lifetime. In the Playschool class the children have been exploring the letter M and its sound “mmmm”. They used the microscope to look at how it magnifies tiny things that are difficult for our eyes to see on their own.

The children also worked together to build a skeleton puzzle.

For the letter M, the children also created Mother’s Day cards in a wonderfully messy Jackson Po***ck inspired style!

They recapped some of the Letterland sounds and characters using Letterland Snap.

The children made lanterns and electric cars using homemade playdough, practised number recognition by collecting the correct amounts of Lego pieces, and used colour dabbers to search for and mark numbers on paper.
