CANTILEVERS with CONFIGURATION
I found these images in my book and went through my archive to recover the original files. They were taken in 2002, and unfortunately, the resolution is limited. I regret not having used better camera settings at that time.
That said, I am still happy to have digital records covering 30 years of my career, starting from 1994, when I first experimented with digital photography (and in those years I also published a paper in the JCO). My analog slides from 1983 to 1993 are stored somewhere in my basement, and I doubt I will ever see them again.
On another note, while many colleagues are now beginning to appreciate the advantages of using cantilevers, only a few truly understand — and even fewer explain — some of the more advanced concepts involved. It takes me at least one full day to cover the fundamental principles needed to even start thinking about designing a proper cantilever, plus an additional one or two days if you want practical typodont exercises. And this is only the beginning.
One example of a topic that is rarely taught is the use of composite cantilevers. They have a wide range of applications and can be extremely useful in challenging cases. In all of our courses, you will also learn how to work with composite cantilevers. Vheck www.ioss-ortho.com for info
