Our littleMandarin kids🍊 enjoyed a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in class! They made snow-skin mooncakes, painted traditional Chinese crab paintings, made lanterns, solved lantern riddles, and sang children’s songs, experiencing the joy and traditions of the festival together. 🏮🦀🎶

The children also recited and sang many poems and songs. Stay tuned for our Littlemandarin’s music collection! 🎵

Last Saturday we visited the Huawei Innovation Center, where the children explored cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G communications, and smart cities through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities. Along the way, they also learned many Chinese vocabulary words related to technology.

During the visit, the children had the opportunity to operate a robotic dog, learn about modern information and communication technologies, and discover how a single photo can enable an "instant journey" through digital technology. They also discussed how innovations such as 5G live sports broadcasting, autonomous driving, smart cities, and AI-powered online healthcare are transforming our daily lives.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing the children enthusiastically raise their hands, ask questions, and share their own ideas. Some even brought drawings of their vision of the future, inspiring wonderful conversations about the world they imagine. Their creativity, curiosity, and willingness to express themselves truly impressed us.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Huawei Innovation Center for their warm hospitality and we are looking forward to our next discovery event!

🎨 Art & Craft Projects – Kids paint, draw, and create papercuts or simple sculptures inspired by the story.
🗣️ Interactive Language Learning – Children practice Mandarin naturally as they describe their artwork and learn about painting techniques.

🌿✨ Here is the impression of our first week of the summer camp! ✨🌿

From traditional crafts, shadow puppetry and scented sachets to the 24 Solar Terms, summer poetry and Chinese painting; from Chinese architecture and gardens to Tai Chi, balance and nature exploration, the children discovered the richness of Chinese culture through stories, games, creativity and outdoor activities.
Throughout the week, we learned, explored, created and shared, making new friends and wonderful memories along the way. 💛
Thank you to all our enthusiastic campers for making this cultural journey so joyful and memorable!

✨ What an unforgettable journey!

This year, children from around the world competed by submitting videos for the 2026 Junior Cultural Ambassadors programme organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. We are incredibly proud that two LittleMandarin students were selected to represent Switzerland in China! 🇨🇭❤️🇨🇳

Before their departure, we celebrated with all participating families by making dumplings together, so every child could experience a taste of Chinese culture, regardless of the competition results.

At the end of June, our two young ambassadors travelled to China for an amazing week of cultural activities, new friendships, and unforgettable memories. 🌏

A huge congratulations to all of our participants! We hope to see even more LittleMandarin students join the programme next year and experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
