In the hospitality industry, teamwork and communication are not just valuable skills—they are essential.

Every guest experience is created through collaboration between different departments and team members. From the front desk to housekeeping, food and beverage, and management, clear communication and mutual support help everything run smoothly.

Working in a team teaches us how to listen, understand different perspectives, solve problems together, and support one another under pressure. Most importantly, strong communication helps us create better experiences for our guests and a healthier workplace for our colleagues.

In hospitality, we don’t succeed alone—we succeed together. 🌟

What’s coming up?

After some intense weeks of exams, we’re finally taking a well-deserved term break until October 12th!

And when we’re back, there’s plenty to look forward to:

Welcome Party for the New Students – Let’s give our newest students a warm welcome and kick off the new term together!

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Event – Get creative, grab a pumpkin, and show us your best (or spookiest 👻) carving skills!

Costume Days – Time to dress up, have fun, and bring some Halloween spirit to campus! 🎭

But first… enjoy the break! You’ve earned it after those intense exam weeks. 💪😌

Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Learning Beyond the Classroom!

As part of the Capstone Project with Ms Elda, our students explored the exciting world of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Divided into four teams, each group developed its own innovative business idea and then took those ideas out into the real world!

To test and validate their concepts, the students conducted fieldwork in Lucerne, collecting valuable primary data through surveys and interacting directly with people in the city.

This was much more than just a business project. It was an opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, approach and communicate with people they didn’t know, and put their German and English language skills into practice in real-life situations. These experiences are an important part of building confidence, communication skills, and independence.

Throughout the project, the students showed fantastic enthusiasm, commitment and teamwork, especially during the fieldwork and the development of their ideas. 👏

The final Capstone presentations took place on Tuesday, 22 September, and we are looking forward to sharing later moments from it too!

Maintaining transparency through anonymous questions is essential to creating an open and trusting environment where students feel comfortable sharing their honest perspectives. As transparency and student feedback are an established part of hospitality education in Switzerland, continuing this practice provides valuable direction for reflection and improvement.

It allows us to better understand students’ needs, identify areas for development, and ensure that our decisions and actions remain closely connected to their experiences.
