Today was German Language Day in our Primary School at ISZN!

Our students took language immersion to the next level by dressing up as German words, exploring captivating German stories in class, and playing traditional games together during break time.

A huge congratulations 🥳 to our students on their exceptional IGCSE Results for 2026! We are incredibly proud of the dedication, ambition, and hard work shown across the cohort, and we celebrate every individual milestone achieved this exam season. 🎓✨

This year's cohort achieved outstanding outcomes across a wide range of disciplines. Across nine distinct subjects, our students secured a 100% pass rate. 83% of all grades landed in the Grade 4 to 9 range (the equivalent of C to A*). Crucially for future study, 83% of students attained 5 or more passes at Grades 4 to 9, while 65% demonstrated exceptional academic breadth by achieving 7 or more passes at this standard. Language proficiency was another standout highlight, with 63% of entries in German earning top-tier Grades 7 to 9 (equivalent to A and A*).

For context, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world’s most recognized qualification for students aged 14 to 16. It serves as a vital academic benchmark, testing critical thinking, practical application, and subject mastery to prepare learners for advanced pre-university pathways like A-Levels. Under the standard 9 to 1 grading scale, Grades 7, 8, and 9 represent top-tier academic excellence.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate this remarkable achievement.

With an outstanding 48% of all grades awarded as A or A*, these results are a wonderful reflection of this cohort’s hard work, ambition and dedication to be the best they can be and achieve the highest possible marks. 🌟

We are delighted to announce that Christopher Derrick has been appointed as the new Principal of ISZN! 🌟

Chris has served as our Head of Secondary since May 2024, driving academic rigour, holistic student wellbeing, and our shared vision for High-Quality Learning and Teaching. In his expanded role, he will serve as Principal while continuing to oversee the Secondary programme.

| How does a new city begin to feel like home for a child?

For international families, settling into Zurich is about more than practical arrangements. Children build confidence through familiar tram routes, favourite playgrounds, repeated visits to the same Badi, and small moments of independence.
Summer gives them more opportunities to explore, practise simple German, join other children, and create routines that make the city feel less unfamiliar.

ISZN Summer Camp: Up, Up and Away 🚀

A bottle rocket countdown. A jet built from recycled materials. A paper airplane that flew further than expected.

The first two weeks of ISZN Summer Camp brought flight to life for our Pre-K to Grade 2 campers through hands-on challenges, creative building, and field trips in Zurich.

Each activity gave campers space to test ideas, work together, and see science in action.
