A look back at the 49th SKISF Summer Camp in Losone 🥋🇨🇭
A memorable and inspiring week has come to an end: From July 20 to 25, Losone played host to the 49th SKISF Summer Camp. Around 200 karateka from Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Denmark, and South Africa made the most of the opportunity to train side-by-side, develop their technical skills, and connect across borders.
A true highlight was the top-tier instruction on offer. Participants received invaluable technical guidance under the watchful eyes of Koga Shihan (9th Dan), Racca Sensei (8th Dan), and Fumitoshi Sensei (8th Dan), who traveled especially from Japan for the event. They were warmly supported by the dedicated SKISF instructor team:

In Memoriam Melki Toprak 🕊️
At the start of the week, everyone gathered to pay tribute to Melki Toprak, the former president of Karateclub Locarno, who passed away far too soon in May 2026. The traditional Melki Toprak Memorial Cup took place on Wednesday in his honor, featuring world-class Kata and Kumite matches.

An exceptionally well-organized and successful event! A heartfelt thank you to Karateclub Locarno for hosting us so brilliantly, and to all the Senseis for their patience and insightful training.
