Ever wondered what happens behind the curtain?
Our backstage teams are the people who make the magic happen – from props and costumes to stage management, set, hair & makeup and everything in between.

Getting involved backstage is also a practical way to learn how theatre works as a collaborative process. You can build technical skills, gain confidence, and understand how different teams work together to bring a production to life. Whether you are completely new to backstage or already have experience, we would love to hear from you.

We’re thrilled to welcome Benjamin Mundy to Simply Theatre this weekend for a very special Audition Lab, working alongside Katherine from our in house production team.
Ben brings a huge wealth of professional experience to the room as a performer, choreographer, director and casting professional.
His theatre credits include ANNIE across the West End, international tours and South Africa, as well as CATS, 42ND STREET, CURTAINS, THE PRODUCERS, GREASE and many more.
Ben has also worked in casting for ANNIE, alongside casting and creative work on productions including SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, DOGFIGHT, 42ND STREET, ON THE TOWN and SWEET CHARITY.

With our ANNIE auditions coming up, this is a brilliant opportunity to get inside the professional audition room and learn from someone who has experienced both sides of the table.
Students will work on:
• Making strong choices in an audition
• Acting through song
• Characterisation and storytelling
• Confidence and presence in the room
• Understanding what casting professionals are looking for
• Preparing and performing at your best

If ANNIE is on your audition list, this is a chance to prepare with someone who knows the show, the industry and the audition process first hand.
Spaces are limited. Book your place and get audition ready.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
We’ve watched so many of our students take their first steps on stage at Simply Theatre and go on to pursue their passion for performing.
So, we thought it was time to catch up with some of our alumni and find out where their theatre journey has taken them.
Welcome to our new Alumni Spotlight series, celebrating the Simply Theatre students who are now studying theatre and performing arts at university and drama schools.
First up, we’re catching up with Zoe Lotfy.
"I am currently studying for my BFA in Drama, alongside training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (LSTFI), a renowned institution specialising in Method Acting and actor training."
