Verbier Language School can help you learn or improve your language skills in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with fun, professional and experienced teachers. VLS offers individual and group language classes in a wide range of settings (indoors and outdoors) for both children and adults. We teach all levels of ability within a range of formats and fun activities so that you can learn a language in the way that best suits you.

Our aim is to get you out and about using the language you’re learning as soon as possible. We offer small group (maximum 8 students) and private classes for all levels, children and adults, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with fun, professional teachers.

Beginner, intermediate or advanced, VLS offers a unique language experience; learn in real life situations, put everything into practice with everyday activities and find the confidence to use the language in all situations.

Choose a group to learn in a relaxed and fun environment in small groups of up to 8 students, ideal for focusing on your conversational skills.

One-on-one tuition focussing on the individual needs of the student. Perfect if you have a specific goal to achieve and an exam to prepare for. They can be organised whenever and wherever you want; at school, at home, in a restaurant, in a shop, or even on the ski slopes, along with your favourite activity (skiing, hiking, shopping, climbing, dining…the list is endless).

🗣️ You don't have to speak perfect French to start speaking French!

🇫🇷 A2 INTENSIVE FRENCH – JUST A COUPLE OF PLACES LEFT!

If improving your French is on your autumn to-do list, this could be just what you need.

Our A2 Intensive French Course with Elodie starts Monday 19th October, and we now have just a couple of places remaining.

It’s designed for students who already have the basics and want to build confidence, improve their speaking and make real progress in a short space of time.

🏔️🌍 A LITTLE TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE…

Can you believe it was a year ago that Eleonore, Andy and their intrepid team of explorers were at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro?! 😮

It feels like yesterday… and also like a very long time ago! 😂

There were mountains to climb, spectacular views, tired legs, plenty of teamwork, some seriously early mornings… and, of course, those famous Swiss caps making sure everyone knew where the team had come from! 🇨🇭😉

And then came the moment they’d worked so hard for - Uhuru Peak! 🏔️👏

Looking back at these photos is a great reminder that some adventures really do stay with you. The people, the places, the laughs, the challenges… and probably a few moments of wondering “why exactly was this a good idea?” 😂

🍫 "Life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get." – Forrest Gump

The same could definitely be said for our Verbier Language School staff parties! 😄

Our team never quite knows what we'll have up our sleeves next. One year we're taking them to a gin masterclass, the next it's a paintball experience... but that's all part of the fun!

This time, we headed to Bowland in Martigny, where we put our knowledge (and competitive streaks!) to the test in the Rival Quiz, before moving on to a lively Karaoke Battle. Safe to say there were plenty of laughs, a few questionable singing moments, as well as some surprisingly impressive performances! Bowland's immersive quiz rooms and private karaoke make it a brilliant place for team outings.

Now for the important questions...

🎤 Who secretly loved karaoke?
🙈 Who was counting down the minutes until it was all over?
❄️ And who stole the show with their unforgettable rendition of "Let It Go"?

(We're not naming names... unless they volunteer in the comments! 😆)

To round off the evening, we headed to Steak House Chez Steve & Arnaud for a well-earned feast - complete with giant bibs, and enough steak to keep everyone happy. 🥩

A huge thank you to our fantastic team for everything you've done this summer. We couldn't do it without you, and now we're already wondering... what should we plan for our next staff party? 🤔

🇫🇷 Help us create the perfect French class! 🇫🇷

We're looking at starting one or two new weekly French beginner group classes and we'd love your feedback before we finalise the timetable.

We're currently considering these options:

📅 Monday at 13:30 with Eleonore
📅 Wednesday at 10:15 with Eleonore
📅 Thursday at 17:00 with Elodie

✨ 1-hour class each week
💰 CHF 30 per person, per lesson

Whether you're starting from scratch or already know a little French, we'd love to hear from you.

Beginner 1
Perfect if you're a complete beginner, learned French years ago and want to go back to basics, or know a few words and simple expressions but aren't yet comfortable forming sentences.

Beginner 2
Ideal if you already know everyday vocabulary and common phrases, are familiar with the present, past and future tenses, but would like to become more confident speaking French.

🇩🇪 Fancy learning German?

We've recently had an enquiry from someone looking to join a Beginner German group class for adults, so we thought we'd see if anyone else would like to come along too!

The class will go ahead once we have a minimum of three participants, making it a small, friendly group where everyone has plenty of opportunity to practise and ask questions.

📚 Beginner German (Adults)
👥 Minimum of 3 participants
💰 CHF 30 per person, per one-hour lesson
📅 Weekly classes

At the moment, we'd love to know what would work best for you. Would you prefer lessons:

Some weekends are all about supporting the Verbier community.

On the 5th September, Eleonore spent the day cheering on the incredible Spartan competitors here in Verbier. A few weeks earlier, on 23rd August, she volunteered at the Forcethon charity race, helping to guide runners along the course and encouraging them to keep going.

Eleonore enjoys being a part of events like these but you won't find her running a Spartan race anytime soon (walking is more her vibe! 😊). However, it's great to be there supporting everyone who takes on these amazing challenges.

At Verbier Language School, we love getting involved in our local community, lending a hand, meeting people and supporting the fantastic events that make Verbier such a special place.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in both events. 🙌🙌

🇬🇧 Can you help us create a new English Club?

We have one lovely young student who's been hoping to rejoin one of our English Clubs this term, but at the moment we don't have enough children of a similar age to create a suitable group.

So, we thought we'd put the word out...

If you have a child of 10 years old (or thereabouts) who is learning English as a second language and would enjoy the chance to build their confidence through fun, interactive activities with other children, we'd love to hear from you!

Our aim is to create a new group with a minimum of three participants, so that we can get started as soon as possible.

Our English Clubs are all about helping children develop their speaking and listening skills in a relaxed, encouraging environment, where learning feels fun rather than like another lesson at school.

🌍 Can you guess where I (Rosi) spent my summer holidays? 🤔

I have a little challenge for you... can anyone name all three places I visited? 👀

Here are a few clues:

🐻‍❄️ I didn't find a polar bear... but I did meet seals, walruses, reindeer, huskies and Arctic foxes instead.
🌞 I watched the midnight sun shining at 1.00 am.
🦌 I sampled some reindeer snacks (when in ??... 😉).
⚓ I visited the incredible Vasa Museum and saw the beautifully preserved 17th-century Viking ship.
⛴️ I also couldn't resist doing my own version of the Titanic pose on board a boat... thankfully, there was no iceberg in sight at the time! 😂
🧊 Though sadly, I did later see a 'wibbling' iceberg... a small but powerful reminder of how quickly our world is changing. 🥹

It was an unforgettable holiday filled with incredible wildlife, spectacular landscapes and memories I'll treasure forever.
