Franklin Switzerland

Franklin Switzerland Franklin Switzerland is a US- and Swiss-accredited nonprofit university based in Lugano, CH.
(1)

Franklin Switzerland is located on a hillside above Lugano, the principal city of Switzerland’s southernmost Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. An American liberal arts institution in an international environment, Franklin is fully accredited in the United States by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and in Switzerland by the Swiss Universit

y Conference. Franklin places extraordinary emphasis on cross-cultural perspectives, an emphasis designed to affect the direction and meaning of a student’s college experience, life and career. A commitment to courses of study that are international in perspective and cross-cultural in content has been the cornerstone of our educational mission since our founding in 1969. In fact, we classify this need as the international imperative in education. Franklin Switzerland awards the Bachelor of Arts degree in a number of academic areas, each enhanced by the opportunities afforded by our European location, as well as the exemplary qualifications of our faculty.

There are plenty of ways to find your place at Franklin, and around Lugano too ❤️

Our Student Involvement Fair brought together Franklin student clubs and organizations alongside members of the local community, giving our new students the chance to discover what they can get involved in both on and off campus.

Thank you to MASI Lugano and HC Lugano for joining us and helping welcome our newest students to Lugano! 🇨🇭

Closing out August and Orientation with a lot of new friends on campus ❤️

It’s been a full couple of weeks for our new students, surrounded by the Franklin community, getting to know the people and places that will be part of their everyday life here, and taking their first steps around beautiful Lugano 🇨🇭

Now that classes are underway, we wish all our new and returning students an amazing academic year ahead. We’re happy to have you all back!

Not your usual first-week introductions.

Our new students got to know each other a little differently this weekend, and we’d say the ice is officially broken 🏊️💦

Every Franklin class starts here 🏊️💦

A day in Valle Verzasca is a Franklin rite of passage: you meet your new classmates, jump into some very cold water and leave with a few new friends.

👉️👀 Now for a Franklin fun fact: did you know Valle Verzasca is hidden in our logo? Look closely at the bridge in these photos, then take another look at the Franklin logo. It’s pretty easy once you know, but somehow, not everyone has noticed it yet.

It represents Franklin’s long-standing connection with Valle Verzasca, the place where generations of new students have officially started their Franklin experience 🇨🇭

First day of classes! 📚❤️

Campus is busy and full of people again, and it’s great to see everyone back for the start of a new academic year.

Good luck to all our students, and an extra special welcome to the new students starting their first classes at Franklin today!

We hope the next four years bring you great memories, friendships, experiences and plenty of reasons to call Franklin home. ❤️

Lugano really chose Orientation Week to give us this weather ☔️

But getting to know your new campus also means getting to know the people in it, and a rainy afternoon turned out to be a pretty good excuse to do just that.

💫 Yesterday’s hangout spot: the P. Gregory Warden Student Center in the McNeely Center of Ideas & Imagination.

A few days in, and our newest students are already starting to find their place in the Franklin family ❤️

Yesterday, our new students continued discovering Franklin, while their families had the chance to get to know their new Franklin community ❤️

As students explored campus and the surrounding neighborhood, parents and families gathered for an aperitivo with current students, faculty and staff, meeting the people and community their students are now part of.

Later, everyone came together at the Grotto on Kaletsch Campus for A Taste of Ticino, an annual Franklin tradition bringing students, families, faculty and staff around the same table for an evening of local and regional food🇨🇭

Welcome to the Franklin family! ❤️

Last night, our new students gathered in the Kaletsch Campus Auditorium for their official New Student Welcome ✨️

Russell Martin, Senior Associate Dean of Student Life and our Orientation Mentors, Academic Mentors, Resident Assistants and Community Assistants introduced themselves and shared how they’ll be supporting students as they settle into their first days at Franklin.

It was a chance to bring everyone together, meet some of the familiar faces they’ll see throughout the week, and officially kick off Orientation 💫

We’re so happy to have our new students here! ❤️

And Orientation Week has officially begun! 🇨🇭❤️

Yesterday, we welcomed our newest students to Franklin for their first day on campus.

The day began with New Student Check-In and move-in, giving students their first opportunity to settle in, meet one another and start getting to know the Franklin community. Later, everyone came together for our New Student Welcome, dinner on campus and an evening walk to the lake with our Orientation Mentors.

A full first day, and only the beginning of the week ahead.
Welcome to Franklin! We’re so happy to have you here. ❤️
