I’ve always been passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive community. During my studies, I found great joy in working with children with visual and hearing impairments, but I wished I had more opportunities to connect with their families and understand their experiences. Now, as a full-time piano teacher, I work with students of all ages and abilities and get to see their amazing growth and love for music.

One of the highlights of my work is organising our annual Förderverein für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten, KMSK charity piano concerts. Music has such power to bring people together, raise awareness, and support families affected by rare diseases. This year, we’re hosting our 6th KMSK concert on 1st December, and any donations are greatly appreciated 🫶🏼.

We are currently raising funds for Jonna, a 7-year-old living with bone marrow oedema. If you’d like to contribute, here’s how to donate:

My piano is a beautiful and intricate instrument, but to keep it sounding its best, regular tuning by a professional is essential.
Over time, even the finest pianos naturally fall out of tune due to changes in humidity, temperature, and regular use.

Why tune your piano?

🎼 Sound Quality: A properly tuned piano ensures the music you play sounds rich and harmonious.

🎼Longevity: Regular tuning helps preserve the condition of your piano, preventing bigger issues from developing.

🎼Playability: A well-tuned piano provides a consistent, enjoyable playing experience, helping you progress and enjoy every note!

How often should you have your piano tuned?
I recommend tuning your piano at least twice a year. If your piano is played frequently, or it’s a new instrument, more regular tuning might be needed to maintain optimal sound.

Who should tune your piano?
I keep my piano in top shape by having it professionally tuned by Piano Sigrist, a family company, who attach great importance to sustainable service.

This includes, in addition to tuning, cleaning, readjustment, re-intonation and advice on pest infestation (e.g. moths) and the subject of humidity.

According to them, this is “the most beautiful craft in the world” 🎶🎹

𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐦 𝐖𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢 𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐞

Every Tuesday, I have the privilege of bringing the joy of music to the residents of our local Altersheim in Richterswil. Playing the piano for these wonderful individuals is a heart-warming experience that I cherish deeply. Music has the power to uplift spirits and create beautiful moments of connection.

I love playing calm yet emotional music, both classical pieces and new compositions. Some listeners clap along to the rhythm, while others drift off to sleep. The most special moments are when they recognize a piece, like “𝐵𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑃𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐴𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒” by Richard Claydermann or “𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑙𝑎𝑓𝑒, 𝑚𝑒𝑖𝑛 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑧𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑛, 𝑠𝑐ℎ𝑙𝑎𝑓 𝑒𝑖𝑛” by Bernhard Flies.

Seeing their joy as they sing and hum to “𝐺𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑛 𝐴𝑏𝑒𝑛𝑑, 𝑔𝑢𝑡’ 𝑁𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑡” by Johannes Brahms fills my heart. Sometimes, their beautiful singing moves me to tears.

I believe in doing more of what you love, and for me, that includes reading and exploring new places with friends.

I'm proud to be the co-founder of the VIM Book Club, where we gather once a month to discuss our current reading and choose a new book.

Our meetings go beyond just books; we often combine them with activities like sports or excursions. Today, we had the pleasure of touring the stunning Kloster Einsiedeln. It's always refreshing to blend our love for literature with new adventures and experiences.

Doing what you love not only enriches your life but also brings joy and fulfillment.
