Teen anxiety is not always easy to recognise. It may look like irritability, withdrawal, overthinking or simply saying, “I’m fine.”
Safe Space 12+ offers young people a supportive, non-judgemental place to talk, understand their feelings and develop healthy ways to cope.

“I don’t know” doesn’t always mean that your child doesn’t want to talk.
Sometimes it means:
“I don’t know how to explain what I’m feeling.”
“I’m afraid you won’t understand.”
“I can’t find the right words.”
“I want to tell you, but I’m not ready yet.”
Young people often experience emotions they cannot yet recognise, understand or express. What appears to be silence, distance or unwillingness to communicate may actually be uncertainty, fear or emotional overwhelm.
Safe Space 12+ offers young people a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where they can explore their feelings, understand their reactions and learn practical ways to manage anxiety and inner tension.
They don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes they simply need a safe place to begin.
If you feel that your child may be holding more inside than they can put into words, get in touch to learn more about Safe Space 12+👇

things can feel exciting but they can also bring uncertainty, self-doubt and fear.
Sometimes we stay with what feels familiar, not because it makes us happy, but because we know what to expect. Fear doesn’t always mean that you should stop. It may simply mean that you are stepping outside your comfort zone.
You don’t have to feel completely ready or confident before you begin. Start with one small, manageable step, confidence often grows along the way.
Which of these five reasons feels most familiar to you?

That is why I created Safe Space 12+.
Safe Space 12+ is a personalised 12-week programme designed to help young people better understand their emotions, recognise the signals of their body and nervous system, and develop self-regulation tools they can use in everyday life.

When I set off for Kenya, I thought I was travelling there for a wedding.
Now I know I had actually arrived to learn a completely different lesson.
Not because of the safaris.
Not because of the tourist attractions.
But because, for a few days, I was able to immerse myself in an entirely different rhythm of life.
A rhythm where the clock does not dictate the pace. People do.
I was fortunate enough to spend the days leading up to the wedding with my friend’s family. I did not experience Kenya from a hotel. I had the chance to live it from the inside.
I was there while ugali was being cooked over a gas cylinder.
I travelled along roads where, at times, the lanes seemed more like suggestions than actual rules. I often joked that anyone who earns their driving licence here can confidently drive anywhere in the world afterwards.
When we had a few free hours, we set off in our pyjamas to see the coffee and tea plantations.
We travelled to the countryside to visit an uncle, where, for the first time in my life, I saw mangoes, papayas, bananas and oranges ripening on the trees.
And then I discovered the concept of Kenyan time.
A place where “There’s no rush, we still have plenty of time” is not laziness.
It is a philosophy of life.
We also visited a part of downtown Nairobi that even many locals are reluctant to enter and where tourists almost never go. Yet that was where my African-style dress for the wedding was made. While every part of me was saying that I had no control over the situation, something else quietly whispered: trust.
And then the wedding day arrived.
So many people.
A traditional African ceremony.
Singing.
Dancing.
Hugs.
Smiles.
It did not matter where you came from.
All that mattered was that we were celebrating together.
But what touched me most deeply was not the wedding itself.
It was the people.
Their natural warmth.
Their openness.
The fact that no one expected me to be anything other than who I was.
And perhaps this sounds strange, but there were moments during those days when I simply burst into tears.
Not because I was overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.
But because I felt accepted.
Without having to prove anything.
Without having to offer something in return.
Simply because I was there.
I realised how rarely we experience this. How rarely we truly open our hearts.
How often we believe that we first have to achieve something, meet certain expectations, be useful or give something in order to deserve love or attention.
But there, simply being present was enough.
And perhaps that was the greatest gift of the entire journey.
Because somewhere along the way, I also began to be truly present.
I stopped thinking about what would happen tomorrow.
I stopped worrying about everything I still needed to solve.
I simply allowed myself to arrive in the moment.
And strangely enough, once I did, everything seemed to fall into place.
Perhaps that is why I feel that Kenyan hospitality is not simply about people being kind.
It is about being welcomed exactly as you are. And of course, I am sure there are exceptions here too, but that is not what this post is about.
This post is a reminder that the most beautiful parts of life are not found in the constant rush.
They are found in those moments we finally stop trying to hurry through.
I believe this is the gift I am bringing home with me:
The gift of being more present.

Not at all.
I always focus on the person sitting in front of me. I want to understand who they are, what is on their mind, what they are struggling with, what they long for, what is holding them back, and what they are finally ready to let go of.
In our work together, the focus is not on what other people are like or what they have done, but on the relationship you have with yourself.
Everything shared during our sessions remains confidential. You are, of course, free to share your own experiences with anyone you choose, but I will always protect the stories and information entrusted to me.
