Challenges and Experiences of Running NLP Training in Hybrid Form (Online and On-Site Simultaneously)
Hybrid training promises the best of both worlds—combining the richness of in-person learning with the accessibility of online participation. At the same time, it presents unique challenges for trainers, assistants, and participants.

In this Cyber Café, Fellow Member Trainers Richard Bolstad and Julia Kurusheva from New Zealand will share their extensive experience in delivering hybrid NLP trainings across different countries and cultures.

They will offer valuable insights into practical challenges such as technology setup, group dynamics, participant engagement, adapting experiential exercises, and maintaining training quality for both online and in-room participants.

Join us for an open exchange of experiences, ideas, and practical solutions with fellow trainers. This is a 'best practice' Cyber Café. Let Julia and Richard's experience and wealth of knowledge inspire you. And contribute your own expertise.
We look forward to an inspiring conversation with you!

Must read for all Fellow Member Trainers of the IANLP.

Following consultation with International Association of NLP Institutes (IN) it has been decided that, with immediate effect, all IN certificates must be treated by our Fellow Member Trainers in the same way as other NLP certificates that do not comply with IANLP standards. A thorough equivalence assessment (Re-Certification Process) is required.

In particular, it must be carefully checked whether the 18 days and 130 hours of synchronous training time required by the IANLP standards have been complied with.

Please contact headquarters if you are unsure on how to proceed.

More info on Re-Certification Procedure can be found here:

First 'IANLP Assured Quality' logos awarded
The headquarters of the IANLP has recently received the first QAS reports. They are of a high standard. We are therefore pleased to announce that we have awarded some 30 recognition logos to date.

These logos have been published on the website under the members' entries, and our Fellow Member Trainers can use them for their own marketing purposes.

In March 2022 the Quality Assurance System (QAS) of the IANLP has been presented to our Fellow Member Trainers.

With these guidelines, which are unique in the field of NLP training, the IANLP seeks to promote professionalism and contribute to the continuous improvement of the services provided by the members. The professional and ethical quality of the FMTs is of paramount importance to the good reputation of the IANLP.

The guidelines define the minimum quality assurance measures to be fulfilled by each Fellow Member Trainer.

In this issue:
>> Curricular Supervision is a new prerequisite for recognition as Fellow Member Trainer of the IANLP.
>> Quality Assurance System QAS due now

New requirement: To be recognised as a 'Fellow Member Trainer of the IANLP', applicants must attend "at least five hours of curricular supervision with a qualified supervisor".
We introduced the process of 'Curricular Supervision' because we noticed that new NLP trainers tend to use the implementation plans, training designs, methodology and didactic principles of their senior trainers as guidelines for their future work.
In curricular supervision, incoming FMTs learn about the differences between their training experience and the updated guidelines. They also learn how to integrate these new elements into their training design to maximise marketing benefits.
This has proven to be quite successful.

"The students turned white. They gasped. I could calibrate vertigo, panic, and hyperventilation. I had just used the word EXAM in front of a class of French NLP students. It was 1985, and I was teaching my first practitioner certification in Paris. [...] So I'm going to share a secret with you. I'd never publish this in France. It might spoil the surprise for my students. Here is the certification format I have created in France. It was designed to make testing an enjoyable experience for the students. As a secondary benefit, my participants report they lose their fear of exams. I humbly present to you the 'Van der Horst Examinophobia Cure'."

>> Survey 'Absence Policy' - Results
>> Watch John Grinder and Richard Bandler on 50 years of NLP
>> Quality Assurance System QAS due by end of 2025

We have asked our fellow member trainers how they deal with students' absences. Some 60+ answers were received.
One thing is certain: unexpected absences are inevitable. The question is: how should we deal with them? The responses we received reveal a wide range of creative approaches. Alongside these, our teachers have generously shared their best practices.
