Being a father to a strong intelligent 8 year old scientist/engineer/actress I found this cut out from a Mckinsey report disheartening. (link to the full report blelow)
The teachers at SEO, the material we use and the gamification of our platform are in place to reduce the anxiety associated with tests and learning and to build Joy in science (and Math!)

Girls and Science
Why don’t more girls embrace careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)?

Looking specifically at the predictive mindsets highlighted in this report, we find that girls are more likely than boys to have strong motivation calibration and self-identified motivation, and to believe that their school science work will be useful in the future. But girls are also more likely to
have schoolwork- and test-related anxiety. Girls are also less likely to have‘joy in science’ (defined as agreeing with statements such as “I have fun when I am learning science” and “I like reading about science”). Our analysis suggests that girls’ anxiety and lack of joy in science, in effect, might be
cancelling out their higher motivation calibration and affecting the choices they make.
The PISA data proves that girls have the building blocks, in terms of academic outcomes and positive
motivation mindsets, for STEM careers. If interventions were made to decrease their sense of anxiety and
increase their enjoyment of science, the outcome might well be more female STEM professionals.

UNESCO estimate that children will have only achieved between 50 and 70 % of learning outcomes due to the effects of COVID 19
at Swiss Education Online we have designed a summer catch up for children age 8-14 years to bridge the gaps caused by COVID-19 in the short term.

More importantly, to address the existing gaps in education, we have designed and implemented an ongoing supplementary curriculum. The curriculum is fully accessible online.
