Welcome to the International Seibukan Budo Federation [SBIF], an international organization dedicated to the practice, preservation, teaching, and promotion of traditional Japanese Budō.
Founded in 1987, SBIF brings together practitioners, instructors, dojos, and organizations from different countries, promoting education, technical and cultural exchange, international seminars and gatherings, and cooperation among individuals and organizations connected with traditional Japanese martial arts.
We understand international cooperation as a means of enriching and strengthening Budō, while always respecting the technical identity, lineage, and martial traditions of each practitioner, dojo, and organization.
SBIF therefore promotes cooperation and exchange, not uniformity. Each instructor, school, or organization can preserve its own identity and tradition while developing relationships, projects, and activities with practitioners and organizations from other countries.
Our visual identity also reflects our connection with Kansai and Kumamoto, Japan, places from which some of the martial traditions practiced within Seibukan Budō originate and which represent an important part of our Japanese martial heritage.
Through our international network of instructors, accredited dojos, and national representatives, we work to preserve, study, practice, and transmit Budō with respect for its history and with an open approach to international cooperation.
We welcome instructors, dojos, associations, and organizations connected with traditional Japanese Budō to discover SBIF and to contact us in order to explore opportunities for exchange and collaboration.
