The lie 👉🏻 You'll simply open Canva, create your product, upload it to your store and make money while you sleep as it's passive income.

❌ NO.

🙄 IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THIS, otherwise we will all be millionaires.

Before you even get near to that point you need to consider it as a business. Passive income doesn't equal to something automatically easy to sell that you can do for only a couple of hours a week.

You can create your product, upload it to your store but if you don't focus on active marketing for your passive income stream, nothing moves.

So, the more I see things online about "how easy everything is" the bitter I become 👹 (👈🏻 red like him).

I have consulted SMEs and global brands for more than 15 years in digital marketing and I have NEVER seen easy money. NEVER.

So either we, as marketers, are all idiots or maybe... we are just played on. 😏

These are the steps to follow:

- Validate BEFORE you even touch Canva or open a website
- Align your messaging and positioning to your sales page
- Focus on traffic. How? Tiktok, Youtube, Pinterest have still strong and quite "open" algorithms, Instagram might require longer and more focus.
- Combine your organic content with a paid content from the very beginning. Why? The sooner you start, the sooner you train Meta to reach the right people and the more you can test different ads angle to understand which one works best.

The sooner you go through this testing phase, the sooner you'll know what's working and the closer you get to your first sales.

So yeah, selling digital products doesn't happen overnight but it consists of a test after test after test after test.

If you don't have the patience to commit to the unknown initial phase, it'll be harder to hit your first sales.

But I'm very confident that you can go through all of this beautifully! ✨

When a bad product name can k*ll your sales, I change one simple thing at the time and monitor if things flip around.

This week I noticed that a product wasn't getting the traction I was expecting. So, instead of throwing it in the bin I decided to question the naming and the positioning.

The initial name was "From $0 to Sales in 48h" which honestly sounds too much as a fake promise even if inside I actually break down the steps I take to make the first sales everytime I launch a new offer. So, I've tested this method and it has worked for me.

However, if people landed on the page and didn't know me, the naming was the reason why were pulling off.

So I made a test and tested a new naming, which is "The 48h First Sales Engine" and the market responded quite well within the first hours.

I have been in marketing for the last 15 years and everytime I'm not 100% satisfied with the results I planned, I proceed step-by-step and change one thing at the time instead of rebuilding the whole thing from scratch.

Otherwise, you'll never know what's working and what's not.

Here's what I'm investing in this week for my digital business (and what not🤫👇🏻)

🪣 Bucket 1: Fixed costs

This is my biggest bucket where I calc mainly my tax advisor's costs, VAT, admin costs, pension costs etc.. so this bucket is clearly set up in my bank account and it's untoucheable.

🪣 Bucket 2: Tools

Here's what I'm currently using the most right now and what I decided I don't need anymore:

Shopify - for my website
Canva - for design
Iubenda - for privacy and GDPR compliance
Loom - for video recordings
ActiveCampaign - for email marketing
Thrivecart - for checkout purposes (yes, I still have Shopify up and running but haven't discontinued it yet, even if might be slightly redundant)
ManyChat - for IG automation
ChatGPT & Claude - for inspiration

What I don't need anymore:

Repurpose.io - to repurpose content. I have used it many times to repurpose content on different platforms but rn I decided to create more customized content for each platform I want to be on. It's a bit controversial since AI is taking us into more and more automated actions and flows but since I've tested this, I wasn't 100% satisfied with what I was getting from cross-platform content repurposing. So for the moment I stopped it.

Stan Store - I used it at the beginning on my business and it was super handy but now I prefer to have a more advanced tracking and system with Thrivecart or Shopify.

🪣 Bucket 3: Meta Ads

I run ads on Meta only and I dedicated a specific budget per month. It may vary based on a monthly basis and based on product launches.

♥️ And you? How do you organize your business financially? Let me know below.

It's not a problem buying courses, don't get me wrong.

The problem is buying the next one hoping it will be the next excuse not to launch.

I think at some point you're not really learning anymore... you're just avoiding feedback and reality, which means you're basically avoiding selling.

So what I have learnt so far is that the course that changes your business isn't always the next one. Sometimes it's just a matter of pressing "publish".

♥️ Have you got that one customer's feedback yet? Let me know here.

Ps. Have you ever tried the ginseng coffee? 🫚I love it! ♥️ But every time I travel abroad I never find it, so not sure if it's just an Italian habit?
