For me, the Lili Centre has never been just a place. It has been a turning point, a catalyst, and a home. My journey began in the most unexpected way: meeting Charlie Hartmann Lucarotti at a flamenco dance lesson. That single encounter led me to the LWTC theatre, where I found lifelong friends… and also my husband. From those early days as a strategic volunteer to now serving as Vice President, I have witnessed first-hand how the Centre transforms lives, including my own.
Over the past decade, the LiLi Centre has grown into a lifeline for so many in Luzern, offering language learning, integration support, mental health resources, emergency assistance, family programmes, cultural events, and creative spaces. What I witness every day is the quiet transformation that happens here: people finding stability, building confidence, forming friendships, and discovering a sense of belonging that makes life in Switzerland feel not just manageable, but meaningful - a happy place to call home.
This year marks a milestone... the LiLi Centre turns 10 years old. A decade of resilience, generosity, and community spirit. A decade of showing what is possible when people come together with open hearts and a shared purpose.
