At the beginning of a new school year, creating a sense of belonging matters more than ever. In Savoy Dorm, Dorm Head and Science Teacher Simon Curson makes sure students have plenty of opportunities to get to know one another, build connections, and begin turning their dorm into a home.

From cooking together to dorm tournaments and everyday moments, it’s all part of building a community where every student feels they belong.

We kicked off our first assembly of the year with a few words from our STUCO representatives, student leaders, and Head of School Dr. Marc Ott! It was wonderful to have everyone together again and reconnect at the first of many assemblies this year.

We were delighted to welcome our families to a special reception on the Berneuse tonight! We took the telecabine up to the Kuklos restaurant, where we enjoyed a beautiful evening together high above Leysin. What a wonderful way to celebrate the start of a new school year with our LAS Global Family!

We were thrilled to welcome Michelle Smorfitt to campus this weekend to speak with our student leaders and staff about resilience. Drawing on her research and evidence-based work in coaching, development, and behavioral science, Michelle helped our students explore what resilience looks like in practice and shared hands-on strategies they can use as they step into their leadership roles this year. It was an engaging and inspiring start to the year for our student leaders, who will bring these strategies into their leadership roles next week when the rest of our students return to campus.
