And the tradition continues with our youngest students! 🌿🎒

Following in the footsteps of their older peers, our Preschool and Primary students also headed beyond the classroom last Friday for their traditional outings, with a day full of discovery, curiosity and shared experiences.

🐐 Our Preschoolers enjoyed their very first outing to the Gschwind family’s educational farm in Pailly.

🌱 Grade 1 got hands-on at Jardin Pied Total in Villarimboud, exploring clay, plants and the senses.

🎉 Grades 2, 3 and 4 set off on their own adventures to Parc de la Garenne, the Tropicarium in Servion and Labyrinthe Aventure in Évionnaz.

🏛️ Grade 6 travelled back in time at the Roman Museum in Vidy, discovering the temporary exhibition Kodaï: Antiquity in Japanese Pop Culture, a perfect connection to this year’s school theme, “Languages and Cultures.”

🧩 Grade 5 joined Grade 8 to take on the challenges of Crazy School, putting teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking to the test.

🏕️ Meanwhile, Grade 7 went a little further afield for a three-day camp in St-Luc, with planets, exploration and plenty of learning on the programme!

From Preschool to Secondary, these traditional outings are a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn differently, explore new places and create memories together. 💙

8 destinations, one Champittet tradition 🌍✨

There’s a tradition our Secondary students look forward to each year: packing their bags and setting off together for a week of cultural trips.

This year took our students from Lucerne, Zurich and Lugano to Paris, Rome, Bologna, Turin and Madrid, with each year group discovering a different destination.

But cultural trips are about much more than the places they visit. They’re about learning beyond the classroom, experiencing different cultures and creating stronger connections with classmates through all the moments shared along the way.

It’s a special way to begin the school year together and one of those experiences that becomes part of their Champittet memories. 💙

10 ans de culture, de rencontres et d’émotions au Collège Champittet ! 🎶 🎭

Pour célébrer l'anniversaire de la Saison Cuturelle de Collège Champittet, nous avons eu le privilège d’accueillir Denis Podalydès, sociétaire de la Comédie-Française, pour une magnifique immersion dans l’univers de Marcel Proust.

Accompagnée au piano, sa voix de grand conteur a donné vie aux textes de Proust, révélant toute la richesse, la subtilité et l’humour de la langue française. Un véritable moment suspendu. ✨

Depuis sa création à l’initiative de Daniel Zumbrunnen, notre Directeur académique, la saison culturelle poursuit une ambition qui nous tient particulièrement à cœur : rendre la culture accessible à tous et permettre à nos élèves, nos familles et notre communauté de rencontrer des artistes et des œuvres qui éveillent la curiosité et ouvrent les esprits.

🎭 Dix ans plus t**d, la même conviction demeure : la culture est un formidable outil de transmission et d’ouverture.

Un immense merci à Denis Podalydès et à toutes celles et ceux qui font vivre, année après année, la saison culturelle du Collège Champittet.

Le saviez-vous ? 🔍

Avec plus de 100 ans d'histoire, le Collège Champittet a traversé de nombreuses étapes qui ont façonné son identité. Les années 80 ont été particulièrement marquantes : c'est à cette époque que le Collège, jusqu'alors réservé aux garçons, s'est ouvert à la mixité. La technologie a elle aussi fait son entrée durant ces années, pour le plus grand bénéfice des élèves comme des professeurs !

A new tradition is taking shape at Champittet ✨🏆

Last Thursday, we celebrated the launch of this year’s our House system, bringing together students and staff across four Houses: Bears 🔴, Eagles 🟡, Wolves 🔵 and Lynxes 🟢.

Designed to connect students from Preschool to Grade 9, the House System fosters a strong sense of belonging, teamwork and community. To help our youngest students settle in, we also introduced a Buddy System, pairing them with older students who will support them throughout the year.

The morning featured team buiding challenges that encouraged collaboration, resilience and House spirit, while older students naturally stepped into leadership roles. For some siblings, it was even the first opportunity to be part of the same team. 🤝

Most importantly, the House system is about much more than competition. Every student can contribute through kindness, effort, participation, teamwork and a positive attitude.

A fantastic start to what promises to be an exciting year ahead! ✨

🌎✈️ Mexico and Colombia, we're coming!

From 20 to 26 September, Maya Nicollier Schlegel, Admissions Manager, and Amanda Gardiner, Academic Director, will be travelling to Mexico and Colombia to meet prospective families and share what makes the Champittet experience so unique. 💙

Celebrating the cultures that make Champittet so special 🌍

Our second International Day, organised by our parent association (APEC), transformed Champittet into a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the world. With 18 country stands to explore, students travelled from one destination to another with their passports, discovering traditions, answering quizzes and earning points for their Houses.

From colourful parades to meaningful cultural exchanges, the day highlighted what makes our community so rich: diversity, openness and a shared sense of belonging.
