🔮 Let's conjugate the verb FAIRE at the futur simple!

Now this one requires a little extra attention — FAIRE is an irregular verb, which means its future stem is not what you might expect! 👀

Je ferai
Tu feras
Il / Elle fera
Nous ferons
Vous ferez
Ils / Elles feront

How to build the futur simple with FAIRE?

The stem for FAIRE at the futur simple is FER- — not fair- as you might expect! Then you simply add the regular futur simple endings:

ai / as / a / ons / ez / ont

That's it! 💡

When do we use the futur simple?
To talk about actions that will happen in the future — plans, predictions, promises.

Je ferai la cuisine ce soir. → I will cook tonight.
Elle fera du sport demain. → She will do sport tomorrow.
Nous ferons de notre mieux. → We will do our best.
Ils feront un voyage en France l'année prochaine. → They will travel to France next year.

💡 Watch out for these similar irregular future stems while you're at it:
ÊTRE → ser-
AVOIR → aur-
ALLER → ir-
POUVOIR → pourr-

They might sound a little strange if you translate them literally! 😄

💸 Jeter l’argent par les fenêtres → to waste money
🍽️ Manger comme un ogre → to eat a lot
🌊 Boire la tasse → to swallow water, especially while swimming

These expressions are very common in everyday French and are a great way to sound more natural when you speak.

🇫🇷 Do you know when to use “beau”, “belle” or “bel” in French?

They all mean “beautiful” or “handsome”, but the form changes depending on the gender and the word that follows!

👨 Beau → masculine
➡️ Un beau jardin

👩 Belle → feminine
➡️ Une belle maison

🗣️ Bel → masculine, before a vowel or a silent “h”
➡️ Un bel appartement
➡️ Un bel hôtel

A small detail, but an important one if you want to sound more natural in French! 🇫🇷

Do you know when to use à, au, aux or en?

📍 Je vais à Paris.
🇫🇷 Je vais en France.
🇨🇦 Je vais au Canada.
🇺🇸 Je vais aux États-Unis.

It can be confusing at first, but once you know the rules, it becomes much easier!

🇫🇷 One of the easiest French mistakes to make is confusing “vieux” and “sale”!

They both describe something, but they have completely different meanings:

👴 Vieux = old
🗑️ Sale = dirty

For example:

🏠 Cette maison est vieille.
= This house is old.

🧼 Cette maison est sale.
= This house is dirty.

And of course, something can be old but clean… or new but dirty! 😄

💼 Let's conjugate the verb TRAVAILLER at the passé composé!

This one is actually great news for beginners — TRAVAILLER is a regular -ER verb, which means it follows a very simple and predictable pattern. 🎉

J'ai travaillé
Tu as travaillé
Il / Elle a travaillé
Nous avons travaillé
Vous avez travaillé
Ils / Elles ont travaillé

How to build the passé composé with TRAVAILLER?

Step 1 — take the auxiliary verb AVOIR and conjugate it at the present tense.
Step 2 — add the past participle of TRAVAILLER which is TRAVAILLÉ.

That's it! 💡

When do we use the passé composé?
To talk about a completed action in the past — something that happened once, at a specific moment, or that is finished.

J'ai travaillé hier. → I worked yesterday.
Elle a travaillé toute la journée. → She worked all day.
Nous avons travaillé ensemble ce matin. → We worked together this morning.

The good news? ALL regular -ER verbs follow exactly the same pattern — manger, parler, écouter, regarder… once you know TRAVAILLER, you know them all! 🙌
