AO Trauma Asia Pacific Research Mini Grants 2025

The AO Trauma Asia Pacific Research Grant provide, stand-alone seed funding of up to CHF8,000 for a maximum of one year to support innovative projects dealing with musculoskeletal trauma, and related basic and clinical research in Asia Pacific.

Eligibility criteria for the principal investigator
• Applicants must be citizens of a country in the Asia Pacific region who are younger than 40 years old
• The applicant must be a paid member of a Clinical Division (AO Trauma, AO Spine, AO CMF, AO VET)
• The applicant or one of the applicants of the research group MUST be an AO Trauma Asia Pacific council member or
• The applicant or one of the applicants of the research group MUST be AO Trauma Asia Pacific faculty
Decisions will be communicated approximately three months after the deadline.

AO Trauma Research Olympiad 2025 – Call for Applications

A new edition of the AO Trauma Research Olympiad will be held in Davos in December 2025, which is an initiative under the AO Trauma Research Commission (AO TRC). It will involve researchers from each AO Trauma region AO Trauma Asia Pacific, AO Trauma Europe and Southern Africa, AO Trauma Latin America, AO Trauma Middle East and Northern Africa and AO Trauma North America.
Each region will select two candidates who will be invited to Davos in December 2025 to present their research projects. AO Trauma aims to enhance a culture of clinical and basic science research amongst its members and promote the AO spirit of innovation and development of new concepts and present a global platform for members to present their research projects.

Eligibility criteria for candidates:
- Applicants must be 40 years old or younger
- Candidates must be clinicians and do not have any other commitments during the days of the AO Trauma Research Olympiad program (December 4th – December 7th 2025)
- Original clinical/basic science research that has not been published or presented within the last 6 months at the time of application
- Must be an AO Trauma member

Application period:
15th December 2024 – 28th February 2025

On 7th Sept, we held our first AO Trauma Malaysia Community Event. The event featured engaging knowledge and experience sharing by our AO Trauma members Dr Azlan Sofian, Dr Foo Kwong Yong, Dr Iqbal Harris and Dr Kamarul Ariffin, accompanied by a wonderful dinner and catch-up amongst friends old and new alike. Also, congratulations to our lucky draw winners! 💙
