MIRROR
Flux Laboratory presents Mirror, an artistic concept by Euripides Laskaridis, exploring time, space, and interdisciplinary connections through a series of artistic encounters.
Flux Laboratory has invited internationally acclaimed artist Euripides Laskaridis to conceive and guide a unique artistic exploration for the pre-opening of the Swiss House of Culture, Research and Diplomacy. The Swiss House brings together under one roof in the heart of Athens the Embassy of Switzerland in Greece, the Swiss School of Archaeology in Greece (ESAG) and Flux Laboratory.
At the centre of Euripides Laskaridis’ artistic and curatοrial concept lies an ancient bronze mirror unearthed at Amarynthos by Swiss archaeologists, an object that opens questions of reflection, time, body, archaeology and artistic memory. Rather than a single event, the opening unfolds through a series of immersive Capsules, connecting diplomacy, research, and creative practice.
These Capsules emerge from an in-depth exploration of the Flux Laboratory archive of 25 years, revisiting landmark projects and reimagining them through contemporary practice. By bringing together Swiss and international artists from the Flux Laboratory’s history with Greek-based dancers and performers, each Capsule revisits past works while creating new encounters, bridging memory, movement, and artistic experimentation.

MONTE VERDURA (PRELUDE)

In response to the exhibition La scia del monte or the Magnetic Utopians and the book Les voix magnétiques, both dedicated to the women who shaped the history of Monte Verità, Anna Chirescu’s performance Monte Verdura was created at the invitation of the Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle (MBAL) and its director, Federica Chiocchetti, on the initiative of Flux Laboratory.
Multilingual and polyphonic, the performance brings bodies and nature, gestures and narratives, fruits and voices into dialogue. Shared offerings, collective choreography, and humor form a joyful ritual in which the memory of utopias becomes living, festive matter, resonating with our collective future.
Conceived as a prelude to a group piece (creation 2027), Monte Verdura unfolds as a choral performance in which bodies, music, and narratives intertwine, bringing into tension these ideals and their resonance today.
Following a first presentation at Palazzo Trevisan in Venice, as part of the Swiss Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2024, the performance is presented again at Cabaret Voltaire, Zurich, within the framework of the exhibition Suzanne Perrottet. After Dada, After Dance.
