At the 2026 WWEC Worldwide Educators Conference in Shanghai, the CIFAL Global Network took part in a dedicated Roundtable Discussion on “Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Holistic Education,” bringing together representatives from across the Network to exchange perspectives and experiences on the future of inclusive education.
The session was moderated by Mr. Wang Genxiang, Chairperson of CIFAL Shanghai, with contributions from:
- Ambassador. Sungchul Shin, Director of CIFAL Jeju
- Ms. Michelle Palumbarit, Director of CIFAL Philippines
- Ms. Akiko Ito, Executive Director of CIFAL Japan,
- Ms. Adriana López Mendoza, Global Coordinator of the CIFAL Global Network, UNITAR
The discussion highlighted the importance of making education more diverse, equitable and inclusive, while exploring how holistic approaches can help learners, institutions and communities respond to today’s interconnected challenges. Bringing together perspectives from different regions, the panel also reflected the strength of the CIFAL Global Network as a platform for international knowledge exchange and cooperation.
Connecting the conversation to the wider CIFAL community:
The Network was also present throughout the conference exhibition, with a dedicated CIFAL Global Network stand where participants could discover the work of the Network and its global community of CIFAL Centres.
Together, the panel and exhibition provided opportunities to share experiences, strengthen connections and showcase how the CIFAL Global Network contributes to capacity development, international cooperation and sustainable development through education.
