Great interview on many aspects: from her thoughts on sustainability to the a career's path enabled by an EMBA course. Inspiring to say the least.
What do you see in the future of your University? “Students who want to make a positive impact in society” said Rector Francesco Billari in his last interview. Like Giovanna Chiara, Alumna and Global Sales & Business Development Manager at Hitachi Zosen Inova, we would say.
"I have always hoped to apply my chemical engineering degree to an industry that had a higher meaning and purpose than simply business” - explains Chiara. “So I immediately tried to deal with renewable energy and sustainable technologies, because they represent the challenge par excellence for the future of the planet”.
In her interview, she explains that Europe has already a good base for renewables but there is still a lot to do to decrease dependence on gas imports. On a global level, however, the most promising aspect is that developing countries are leapfrogging to new energy infrastructures based on renewables, skipping the intermediate fossil step. About nuclear power she thinks that it has indisputable advantages. However, no single technology is the solution to the energy problem, but a plurality of power sources will have to be employed.

The Bocconi Alumni Chapter Geneva held their first after Summer Break Social event last Thursday evening and it was a huge success!
We were so pleased to have such a fantastic turn out, with over 50 people attending. Everyone came in, ordered a drink at the bar and left a few hours later with some new connections.
