Discipline brought me far & yet I believe it’s fair to say this isn’t what I would recommend.
Growing up there was this idea that as soon as we put in the work, there will be a result.
Of course this also meant that if you have not the result you wanted, you simply didn’t put enough effort. Blaming myself was normal.
This mindset brought me into a constant hustle to get things done. It’s also the mindset that all depends on me.
Now we have outside factors such as environment, people… that we cannot control. Unfortunately to lay back & relax, trusting that I did what I could wasn’t an option.
Next was of course the negative self-talk and the spiral ended with the belief of “ I‘m not good enough“ else it would have worked.
Over the years this made me so tired that I was giving up. I had zero patience. Zero trust in myself. I had to let go.
Knowing and understanding our beliefs, values is key to stop this pattern. I had to let go what isn’t in my control.
My key take aways are: put in the work, have the vision & then let go, relax until you see the fruits. It’s not a giving up. It’s an understanding that it’s not only depending on you. Trust & practice patience.
Can you relate to the hustler mentality? 👇🏻
