We wish all the children and their families a wonderful summer! ☀️

✏️ It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to those growing out of preschool and off to start their new adventures in primary. We have loved being your ”friend” and career these past few years thanks for being the most amazing bunch of kids ever! 🎉

We hope we have given you a good start ready for your first year at school. 🎒

To those returning in late August we can’t wait to hear all about the summer fun! ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day to all our mums at L’île aux enfants 💐
You are truly loved, as teachers we often hear the most beautiful words from all the children about how great their mums are, as they drew their pictures of themselves with their mum we heard wonderful tales (and some funny!)
Congratulations on raising the most wonderful children! 💕💕💕

At Île aux Enfants - Coppet we offer resources for children to express their creative side freely, our painting table is one that is open daily and has always been very popular.

It’s so interesting as an educator to see the different stages of development within their pieces, I’ve found this link super interesting which explains in more detail what development stages are occurring during these artistic moments.

Recently we’ve enjoyed playing “builders and construction workers,” we observed real heavy machines in action, listened to books, made our own inventions with junk modeling and even had a go at driving and digging with our own mini diggers in the sand pit.
We can work all day! 👷‍♀️👷🧱🏗🚜🚚

Spring arrived at L’ Île aux Enfants - Coppet!
We took a closer look at colours 🎨 shapes 🔺
celebrated St Patrick’s 🍀 and Easter 🐣

Fine motor skills were put to the challenge and we had to concentrate hard on matching and sorting!

Thankfully it’s all done in a playful way, which although the children were being stimulated, they also had a lot of enjoyment 💪 🤩

👧🧒👦Collaborative play, also known as social play and cooperative play, is a type of play when toddlers take turns with playmates, sharing playthings, following rules, and negotiating with others.

🌈 Within Collaborative play children learn Negotiating, sharing, taking turns and teamwork.

We have many activities at L’île aux Enfants that encourages this type of play but Lego seems to be the favorite!

Today March 2nd is World Book Day!
L’île aux enfants we’ve been really loving our book week sharing books from home with our friends, we’ve had a lovely variety of books from home including some new titles for us adults!

Aujourd'hui, le 2 mars, c'est la Journée mondiale du livre !
A l'île aux enfants, nous avons beaucoup aimé notre semaine du livre en partageant des livres de la maison avec nos amis. Nous avons reçu une belle variété de livres de la maison, y compris quelques nouveaux titres pour nous, les adultes !
