Strict environmental requirements have led to the emergence of new classes of aircraft.
Currently, such devices are multicopters and convertiplanes with electric power plants.
The main reason for the appearance of these aircraft is the need for the development of suburban and intracity communications in megacities and centers of economic development. Land transport isn't able to provide a rapid increase in traffic in such centers.
Another reason is the emergence of batteries with a higher energy density than before, and modern digital control systems, which makes it possible to create unmanned or manned vehicles with multi-engine power plants.
Unfortunately, modern sources of onboard electrical energy don't allow electric aircraft to perform a long flight. In addition, the aerodynamics of multicopters limits the flight speed, which, together with a small amount of energy on board, determines the small carrying capacity and range of these aircraft.
Tiltrotoros are capable of flying at high speeds, but additional propulsion systems that provide vertical takeoff reduce the toll load of such vehicles.
Electric aircraft of the normal scheme don't provide the delivery of passengers within the city limits.
Fortunately, many modern megacities and economic development centers are located on the coast of the seas or on islands. This circumstance opens up prospects for the creation of an electric aircraft, devoid of the disadvantages listed above.
Based on these simple conclusions, the concept of a commercial multi-seat electric amphibious seaplane is being formed.
