🇨🇭🎓Swiss Educational System
Let’s dive into the key features⬇️
In Switzerland, education is managed mainly by each canton (region), which means that school systems can vary slightly depending on where you live. However, some common structures remain across the country:
🏫 Primary Education (École Primaire).
This stage typically starts at age 4-6 and lasts around 6 years. It's all about building solid foundations in subjects like languages, math, and science.
🏫 Secondary Education I (Cycle d'Orientation).
From ages 12-15, students focus on more specific academic or vocational pathways. This is a key period for deciding future career or study paths.
🏫 Secondary Education II.
After completing the first secondary level, students either enter academic (e.g., Gymnase) or vocational training (Apprenticeships), which is a unique strength of Switzerland.
👩🎓 Higher Education.
Universities and specialized institutions (like ETH Zurich) offer top-notch programs. But Switzerland is also famous for its dual education system, allowing students to work and study simultaneously.
🌍 Plus, there are plenty of international schools for expats.
