The Power of Nonviolence ✨

Nonviolence is the active practice of refusing to use physical, verbal, or psychological harm to achieve your goals.

Instead, it promotes dialogue, education, empathy, and compassion as powerful alternatives for resolving conflict and creating change.

At its core, nonviolence is rooted in respect, forgiveness, and the belief that lasting peace can only be built through justice and human dignity.

It is also one of the most effective tools for political and social change. Research has shown that, throughout the 20th century, nonviolent movements were about twice as likely to succeed as violent efforts.

How can Indigenous knowledge and care-based approaches help us rethink global justice?

Join educators, youth workers and activists from around the world for an inspiring week of learning, exchange and collaboration in Bern, Switzerland, from 3–10 November 2026.

Together, we will:
✨ Explore Indigenous perspectives on care and land defence.
✨ Develop educational methods for Global Education.
✨ Build international connections and strengthen solidarity across movements.

Travel, accommodation, food and visa costs are covered for selected participants through the Movetia programme. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and spaces are limited. Join this year's Wikipedia for Peace: What Defines Genocide? – an international youth exchange bringing together participants from Namibia, Palestine, Poland and Switzerland. 🌍

Together we'll learn, discuss, connect and improve Wikipedia by wokring on articles on genocide prevention, peace and social justice.

Forced labour often remains hidden!
Behind withheld passports, intimidation, debt bo***ge or false promises are real people whose rights have been violated. Many people experiencing forced labour cannot simply "leave" – because coercion takes many forms.

This carousel introduces indicators of forced labour and shares real testimonies from survivors. Recognising these warning signs is an important step towards preventing exploitation and supporting the rights of workers everywhere.

💬 Which indicator do you think is least recognised?

As Europe implements the new Common European Asylum System (GEAS), many organisations warn that victims of human trafficking and forced labour may face additional barriers to protection if they are not identified early enough. This is why we should all become more aware and active in this field!

Around 27.6 million people worldwide are living in forced labour. It remains one of the most widespread forms of modern slavery, affecting people across industries and continents.

This carousel was created by one of the participants of our "Global Education Lab #2" as part of a collaborative learning process. During the training, participants develop educational materials to make complex global issues more accessible and encourage critical discussion.

Looking for a volunteer experience where your work makes a real difference? Join us in the beautiful Kaiserstuhl, Germany, from 14–29 August 2026 and help protect one of Central Europe’s most unique landscapes.

Nestled between the Black Forest, France, and Switzerland, the Kaiserstuhl is famous for its sunny vineyards, rare dry grasslands, and incredible biodiversity. But these habitats only survive thanks to active conservation – and that's where you come in.

💚 Spend your days mowing meadows, raking hay by hand, building goat fences, and working alongside local conservationists. Explore the region, learn about its fascinating geology and ecosystems, and share the experience with volunteers from around the world.
