DCR is the academic center for knowledge transfer and services related to clinical research. The complexity of clinical research has been growing steadily.

The Department of Clinical Research is your first point of contact when it comes to any aspect of clinical research, from concept to study conduct and on-site management. The Clinical Investigation Unit (CIU) and clinical trials unit (CTU Bern) work together under the DCR umbrella to provide comprehensive support for patient-centered research. In April 2024, after more than 15 years at CTU Bern,
PD Dr. Sven Trelle will step down as Director.
He has been with CTU from the very beginning and made decisive contributions to the successful establishment of the unit. Today, CTU Bern is an integral part of the clinical research landscape in Bern. In addition to his work as Director, he has supported a large number of clinical research projects with his expertise. Many of these projects had a significant impact on health care and research.
From April onwards, Sven will remain with DCR on a reduced workload as a consultant.

We had a wonderful time teaching 70 participants 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♀️🧍between the ages of 5 and 80 hands on about Clinical 🔬 with our Demonstration study.
Candidates experienced all stages of a clinical trial in a fun way.

We also held an open patient forum to address questions of the public and to introduce the DCR patient panel.
