Every year, the five jazz institutes of Switzerland’s music universities come together for the DKSJ All Star Project, connecting versatile young musicians for a unique collaborative project. For the 2026 edition, organized by the jazz institute of the Hochschule Luzern, the ensemble welcomes acclaimed pianist and singer Olivia Trummer, celebrating 20 years of her recording career with SONGBOOK.
Under Trummer’s direction, ten selected students from the five Swiss jazz schools come together to reinterpret some of her most original, intimate, captivating and musically adventurous compositions. Blending instrumental and vocal colours, the ensemble brings new perspectives and fresh energy to her musical universe.
The line-up features Olivia Trummer on piano and vocals, Natalie Andreae, Michelle Probst and Raphaël Descôtes on vocals, Ernestine Mermet on vocals and flute, Louis Waeber on trumpet, Gloria Ryter on trombone, Camille Tissot on accordion, Taras Kushniruk on guitar, Diddi Vogt on double bass and Luca Bertaglia drums.
With an international career spanning more than 20 countries, Olivia Trummer has performed at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Ronnie Scott’s and Birdland Jazz Club in New York. She has also shared the stage with artists such as Eric Clapton, Bobby McFerrin and Kurt Rosenwinkel, touring extensively worldwide as a member of his Caipi Band.
Tonight marks the first concert of the DKSJ All Star Project’s week-long tour across Switzerland. After an intensive weekend of rehearsals, the ensemble will perform its programme SONGBOOK at the Jazzcampus Club at 19:30.
