Here’s a recap of the University Fair held last week at International School Altdorf!

Students had the opportunity to explore over 60 universities from 10 different countries 🌍. It was truly a great opportunity. A big thanks to our dedicated staff, ambassador, and the university representatives who participated in making this event a success!⭐

Yesterday we hosted an event which we have been preparing for for the last few months!

Here are some impressions from the university fair on campus with more than 60 universities attending from 10 countries.

One of our major goals is to help our students enroll into the universities of their dreams and have a fulfilling career in the future, that is why such university fairs on campus are so important.

On the 15th of March we celebrated International Day with a full program of art and cultural activities! From the fun continent based activities to the delicious food. At international school Altdorf we cherish the bonds that cross borders and continue to embrace the richness of the world! 🌍✨

Another cooking class with our talented Chef’s. This time we enjoyed Raclette!🧀🇨🇭 a traditional Swiss dish with a variety of desserts (carrot cake, brownies and Fasnachtschüechli) all made by the students. 🎉👩🏽‍🍳

Each year on 26 September is European Day of Languages🇪🇺It is held to raise awareness of the wide variety of languages in Europe🗣️Our 🧑‍🏫teachers organized students to do different activities about language. The students are making a poster🎨called , which has not yet been completed. Let us look forward to it together！🤩🤩

Last day, our talented students dazzled us with their incredible TOK (Theory of Knowledge) exhibition! 🧠💡 It's been an amazing exploration and critical thinking journey. Each exhibit was a testament to their hard work and dedication to intellectual growth. 🌱💪

We have specially invited 🌍🇪🇺Dr. István Ujhelyi as a lecturer🎓. As a distinguished member of the European Parliament, graced our campus with an enlightening lecture about the inner workings of the European Union. A special event at our summer camp, Model United Nations! 🌍🇺🇳 This activity allows our summer camp students to explore global diplomacy, negotiation and decision-making. Step into the shoes of world leaders, debate pressing issues and build alliances. Students develop public speaking skills and deepen their understanding of international affairs.🤵‍♂️🎙️

Last week, our Summer Camp students from Zimbabwe explored the Swiss Transport Museum. From vintage locomotives to cutting-edge airplanes, they discovered how innovation has shaped our world. Learning about the evolution of vehicles and their impact on society was a fascinating journey! 🚂🛩.

Happy Swiss National Day !🇨🇭Yesterday, our students enjoyed playing traditional Swiss musical instruments🎵, and we also celebrated our classmates' birthdays together. 🎂 creating precious memories. As the day comes to a close, when the camp students gather to watch the amazing fireworks display. 🎆The festival not only brings joy, it also allows our students to appreciate the beauty of cultural diversity and celebrate the importance of heritage.

The Summer Camp continues, we took our students to Milan for an exciting day trip! 🌞 Exploring the vibrant city, we immersed ourselves in its rich culture, indulging delicious Italian cuisine and wandering through picturesque streets. 🎨🏛 Exploring the fascinating world of Leonardo da Vinci's inventions and the museum's interactive exhibits. A day well spent at the Milan, creating unforgettable memories! 🤩

Last Friday we celebrated a great occasion with our Graduation Ceremony Class of 2023 students at Lake Lucerne! 🌟🎉 We wish our graduates the best in their future paths! 🎓✨

Last Sunday we had an exciting day of fun and adventure! ☄️ Our students visited Actionworld in Zurich for a day filled with escape rooms, lasertag, and adventure golf. 🏌️ This was a fantastic opportunity to bond with classmates and enjoy thrilling activities. We look forward to seeing for next week activity! 👀

Over the last months between 2022 - 2023, one of our students, Kirsten Lai from MYP4, decided to initiate PROJECT SUN BEAR 🐻 In collaboration with and ,she participated twice in Altdorf’s local market, one in Christmas and now in Spring, to raise awareness and funds for the Bornean Sun Bears. As an international student from Malaysia, it’s great to see her striving to also bring some of her own culture to Switzerland!

Over the few hours she spent tending to her fundraiser booth, Kirsten advocated for these endangered species, gaining an audience who felt deeply endeared by her movement. She explained the causes of their endangerment and shared the efforts of in trying to reverse its effects on the Sun Bears. With the support of her teachers, friends, and family, we wish Kirsten all the best in her journey with this great project!

Last Friday, a group of our students prepared cultural actvities & lunch for the school as a celebration of the International Day🌸
The dishes cooked had many origins from their home countries, and everyone loved it! 🥘🥢🍴😋

This Sunday, we took our students to the sunshine kanton and the Italian part of Switzerland, canton Ticino.🇨🇭🌞 We visited Locarno and Ascona, and they had a great time with lovely spring weather.🌸 They went by train and passed the famous tunnel NEAT.🚅🛤️ It is one of Europe's most important train routes, with 57.1 km and was built in the name of Europe.🇪🇺 The purpose is to transfer the freight transport on rails instead of roads. 🚛

International School Altdorf are off to start with a new school year and welcome all new and current student on campus. Camila Ronner IBY1 from Colombia and Switzerland just started with us last week.
